The dawn brought the light, but did nothing to chase away the shadows.

At the dawn of creation, whilst the world was still in the cusp of infancy, 8 gods descended upon the earth, and brought with them life, and shaped the very fabric of our existence. Their names were Ur'Daki, Melia, Tho'rui, Krezza, Gro'unta, Mada, Arret, and Thoum.

Thoum, King of the Cosmos, and the oldest of the Gods, breathed deeply, and from his breath the skies came to be. He smiled upon this and pulled out a lock of golden hair. He breathed into the lock within its hands, and the first Celestials, or angels by the common folk, came to be.

Ur'Daki, Lord of the Earth and Mountains, look upon the earth and found it flat and without splendor. He lit his forge, heated the earth began to beat upon the Earth. With each strike of his mighty hammer, On'Dakri, he forged mountains that pierced the viel of the sky. Deep chasms, which billowed out liquid fire, formed in wake of his mighty blows.

He desended into the bowels of this new mountains and worked day and night in secret. His work proved fortuitous, as he brought forth new life. The first race of mortals, the Kar'daki, known in the common tongue as the Dwarf.

Born of stone, and born of Ur'daki, the dwarves crafted the Great Halls beneath the world with their fathers guidance. They created the mighty forge, and became master masons, artisans, and blacksmiths.

Tho'rui, Father of the Forests, together with his twin sister, Melia, Mother of Magic, began planting seeds all around the earth. From these seeds grew the enchanted woods and forests, filled with deep, old magic. Together, the twins brought forth the Fae, creatures born of magic. Elves, Faeries, Satyrs and the like roamed the forests of old, paying homage to their gods and to nature.

Though not immortal, the Fae had longer lifespans than the Dwarves due to the magic that flows through their veins.

Krezza, Master of the Wild, saw the vacant plains, skies, and forests and wept. As his tears fell on the earth, all matter of animals sprout forth. The skies became filled with birds of all kinds, the forests became alive with beasts, and the plains thundered with the hooves of a thousand horses.

Soon the elves and the beasts formed a bond. From this bond, and with the help of magic, came the Selkies.

Gro'unta, Queen of the sea, and wife of Ur'Daki, swam for eons upon eons. From her all the fish and animals of the deep came as she swam and bathed in the sea. As time past, eventually she gave birth to a new race of mortals, the Orc.

Bound by honor, as well as the earth and sea by birth, the Orc were vagabonds by nature, and warlike due to the fires of their father's forge. Their ferocity in battle was only matched by their love of the sea, and their firece loyalty.

The youngest of the gods, Mada, walked amongst the creations of his brothers and sisters. He reveled in all its beauty, danced with the Fae, sparred with the Orcs, played with all the beasts of the land and made great master pieces with the Dwarves. However he was filled with sadness, as he felt he had nothing to contribute to the splendors of this world.

Filled with love for their youngest brother, the other gods came together and aided Mada in creating a new mortal race: Humans. Though their life span may be the shortest of all the races, they were craftsman like the dwarves, can wield magic like the Fae, were strong like the Orcs, and some Selkies chose to become them.

All was good, until Arret, Prince of the Underworld, Lord of Chaos, and twin of Thoum, awoke from his slumber.

Arret, forever jealous of his brother Mada, cursed the humans, and divided their powers and abilities amongst the different clans. He then reached into Ur'Daki's forge and pulled forth fire and brimstone. Between his hands he crushed them together, creating the first Demons and gifted them immortality.

His Infernal hordes were then set lose amongst the world, creating chaos and strife amongst the land. Thoum, angry with his brother, sent his Celestial army down from the cosmos to battle the infernals.

For a thousand years the Infernals and Celestials waged a brutal war amongst each other, dragging the mortal races into their conflict. Until the birth of Cain, a boy sired from a demon and birthed by an angel, a Nephalim, with both of powers of heaven and hell.

Out of fear of their demise, and the unknown power of the Nephalim, the Infernals retreated to the Underworld and began a new form of warfare: the war for the souls of the mortals. Feeding upon the fear and strife they created, the demons forever influenced the mortals into committing atrocious acts of violence and discourse. Fae, Orc, Human and even Dwarf were not safe from this corruption.

The angels, not wanting the mortals to perish and have their souls distorted in the Underworld, began their work for the better. Influencing the mortals to be a beacon of hope and trust.

Though open warfare had ended, a new Cold War began.

Eons passed, civilizations rose and fell, war and discourse between the mortals came and went, a new prophecy came to be, with the Nephalim known as Cain at the center of it all...
