Sirius' 16th - The Gryffindors

"James!" Marlene burst through the portrait hole to find James and Remus sat around the coffee table doing astronomy, "Sirius around?"

"Getting high in Moaning Myrtles bathroom," Remus said,

"Great! I've found someone who can get us booze!" Marlene beamed, the both of them looked at her,

"Who?"

"Alright hear me out,"

"Who Marlene," James said exasperated,

"Regulus Black," she cringed as she said this,

"You've got to be kidding!" James groaned,

"He told me his prices, they're real steep. I reckon we'll have to get everyone to pitch in,"

"How steep?" Remus raised an eyebrow,

"7 galleons for witches brew, 10 for firewhiskey," Marlene cringed again,

"Marleneeee," Remus and James sighed in unison,

"He's the only one! Mary and I have asked the entire of Hogwarts!" Marlene plopped down on the sofa behind them,

"Well I'm not going to get it," Remus spoke,

"Moony!"

"What? I have late classes tonight, and I think it's funny that you're scared of him," Remus laughed,

"I'm not scared of him," James paused and glared at Remus, "but he could definitely kill me if he wanted to," Remus burst out laughing, "Was I the only one who saw him smash his best friends face in and then act like nothing happened?"

"Sirius reckons him and Crouch have always been like that," Remus waved him off, "Apparently when Barty came to stay over Christmas one year they both had bunged up faces in the Christmas card photos,"

"He hit Snape last year too, he doesn't just reserve that for his friends you know," James said matter of factly,

"We hate Snape,"

"So? He broke his nose unprovoked," James spat,

"You don't know that,"

"I know that Sirius' brother is a complete psycho and I don't want to go buy his dark alcohol, Sirius wouldn't like it," James said darkly, Remus scoffed,

"You are so over dramatic, he doesn't have dark alcohol. If you're really so scared of him send Mary," Remus said rolling his eyes,

"Mary is not an option," Marlene sighed,

"Why?"

"She's got her eye on him," James and Remus sighed,

"He's a fourth year!" James exclaimed, "And Sirius' brother,"

"Yeah well, hasn't stopped Mary before. She reckons he's real hot now, after he beat up Crouch and she found out he sells smokes and booze," Marlene sighed, "Shes going through a phase, wants a bad boy Slytherin to go round with,"

"Yuck"

"Tell me about it"

Sirius woke up on his birthday to an enormous bounty of presents, James and his parents had truly spoilt him.

This was followed by four rounds of 'happy birthday' at the Gryffindor table, led by James.

Sirius' day was truly magical. Unfortunately, the full moon had landed the night before, so Remus wasn't around. But it made potions all the better, Sirius got to work with James.
