Aaliyah Dana Haughton was a singer, actress, dancer, songwriter, and model. Aaliyah was born in January 16th 1979 in Brooklyn, New York.

Her parents are Diane and Michael Haughton. She also has an older brother, Rashad Haughton. Her uncle is Barry Hankerson and he's also her manager.

9 year old Aaliyah competed on the TV show 'Star Search', she sadly lost and cried.

Aaliyah first came to attention in 1994, when she was just 15, with her cd "Age Ain't Nothing but a Number."

Her nicknames are 'Babygirl' and 'The Princess of R&B.'

She secretly married R. Kelly from 1994-1995, the marriage didn't last because Aaliyah was 15 and R. Kelly was 27.

Aaliyah had a bodyguard present with her when she attended her high school, Detroit High School and Performing Arts.

She was a fan of Tommy Hilfiger, she was in photo shoots.

In 2000, Aaliyah appeared in her first film, Romeo Must Die. Her character was Trish O'Day.

Aaliyah and Damon Dash was planning on getting married.

She filmed her song 'Rock The Boat' at Bahamas.

In August 25th 2001, after filming her song 'Rock The Boat', she died in an airplane crash.

22 white doves were released to symbolize each year of her life.

Before Aaliyah's death, she appeared her second film, Queen of The Damned. Her character was Queen Akasha.

In 2002, Queen of The Damned released after she died.
