I never knew who you were, did I.
I stare at the pictures we took,
Your face fades into nothing,
The closer that I look,
Now its just me in the frame,
You were never really there.
You never knew who I was, did you.
You cage me inside my fears,
Now my flesh disappears,
The tighter that you choke,
Now its just you in that cage,
I was never really scared.
They never knew what we were, did they.
They sort through our story,
They inspect every page,
The words run blank,
The more they speculate,
Now its just their whispers on the page,
The truth was never really theirs.
