The summer air blew Devine's hair on her face, some hair getting in her mouth as she laughed. Her friend, Stella, had made a joke about her crush on the Slater boy. She couldn't help but laugh it. "Okay, but can we all agree that Jason V. is cute?" her other friend, Melissa, said with a grin. "Which Jason V?" her last friend, Cecelia, asked, raising her eyebrow.

Devine sighed happily, glancing down at the ground as her friends began gossiping. In the corner of her eye, she noticed Tommy walk with her sister Cindy out of the school building.

"What you lookin' at?" Melissa asked her, chewing on some bubblegum. Devine looked at her and smiled, "N- Nothing." "Were you looking at Tommy?" she asked, smirking. Devine blushed red. "That's not true," she said, giggling. Melissa playfully rolled her eyes, "Whatever you say, Berman."

The school bell rang, meaning school was over. Summer was now here.

Devine waved good bye to her friends and walked over to her sister. She locked eyes with Tommy and smiled. "Okay, good bye Tommy," the older brunette said, shooing the boy away. He grinned and walked away, glancing at Devine. "Where's Ziggy?" Devine asked, raising an eyebrow as she glanced at the school building.

"Probably still in there," Cindy said, rolling her eyes.

Just when they were about to stop waiting for her, Ziggy came out of the building with her backpack in her hands. There was green paint all over it. "What happened?" Devine asked, examining the backpack. "Shit happened," the red head muttered. Cindy scoffed, "I swear, Ziggy. You're gonna make all of us get expelled because of your problems."

"Not my fault they decide to mess with me," Ziggy said, rolling her eyes. Devine sighed as she watched her sisters argue. Suddenly, they heard a car horn.

It was Tommy. He was in his car, the window rolled down. "Need a ride?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Tommy, you didn't have to," Cindy said with a smile as she neared the car. Devine and Ziggy followed after their sister.

The girls got in the car, Cindy was in the front passenger's seat while Ziggy and Devine were in the back. The car began moving out of the school's parking lot and into the road.

Tommy didn't have to ask for their address since he already knew it. He's taken the girls home more than a million times since their mother was drowning in alcohol and couldn't bother to take her daughters home. "This is really sweet of you, Tommy," Cindy thanked him. "It's no problem," Tommy said as he turned up the radio's volume. Once they arrived at the Berman residence, Cindy thanked Tommy again.

The girls exited the car and walked up to the front door. Cindy pulled out the keys from her pocket and unlocked the door. The girls walked in and looked everywhere for a sign of their mother.

"Devine, go check the living room," Cindy whispered, furrowing her eyebrows. Devine looked at her with wide eyes, making her glare at her. "Fine," she said with a sigh. She walked in the living room and saw her mother passed out on the couch with an empty bottle of alcohol in her hand. The T.V was still on.

Devine slowly tip toed to her mother and grabbed the bottle from her hand. She moved into the kitchen and threw the bottle in the trash. She then walked back into the living room and turned off the T.V.

Devine sighed as she made her way upstairs to her room. She fell on her bed and began dozing off.

"Devine! Wake up!" Cindy muttered, shaking her sister. Devine groaned as she opened her eyes, "Leave me alone, Cindy."

Cindy rolled her eyes, "No, listen, tomorrow we're going to camp." Devine's eyes shot wide open. "What do you mean?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Cindy sighed, "Devine, mom told us a week ago. And we have to go."

"But I don't usually go," Devine whined. "Every time you and Ziggy have to go, I usually have to stay and do other things." "Well, now's different," Cindy said. She paused before grinning, "Tommy will there." Devine sighed, "Fine, I'll go."

"Perfect," Cindy said with a smile. "Get your stuff ready for tomorrow then."

Devine nodded. She watched as her older sister exited her room. "Great," she muttered sarcastically.
