Devine smiled as Tommy leaned in, planting his lips on her soft ones. She placed her hands on his chest as she stood up. His arms were around her waist.

The loud noise of pots hitting each other interrupted them. Devine gasped as she looked around. "It sounded like it came from the kitchen," she noted. She glanced at Tommy. "I'm going to go check it out, okay?"

"No," Tommy said, grabbing her hand. "I have to, Tommy," Devine said, slightly pouting. "Don't worry, I'm going to be alright." He sighed and nodded, letting her go.

She walked into the kitchen and looked around. There wasn't anyone there. Suddenly, she noticed a knife was missing. She walked back into the room, frantically searching every corner.

Suddenly, Devine felt an arm around her neck. She looked up to see Nurse Lane holding a knife on her neck. Tommy saw her and widened his eyes.

The middle aged woman began talking, but Devine was too focused on the knife on her neck. She gasped when she saw Tommy lunge at Nurse Lane, making her let go of her. Devine screamed as Nurse Lane and Tommy fought on the floor, they were next to a table.

Nurse Lane dropped the knife as she hit her head against a table, knocking her out. Tommy scrambled away from her, glancing at Devine.

Devine felt like a complete idiot for not helping Tommy, but she was paralyzed. She didn't know how to react. Nurse Lane was a kind hearted woman. Why would she want to hurt them?

As if it was on cue, paramedics and police officers arrived in Camp Nightwing. Some paramedics walked in the cafeteria and placed Nurse Lane on a stretcher, taking her inside the ambulance.

A police officer escorted Devine and Tommy outside and made them sit at a nearby table. "Can you tell me what happened?" he asked, his voice gruff.

The couple looked at each other and sighed. "We were cleaning in the Mess Hall when we heard a noise," Devine explained. "I walked in the kitchen and I didn't see anybody, but I saw that a knife was missing. I returned to Tommy and then Nurse Lane grabbed me. She had the knife on my neck. Tommy saved me."

The police officer finished writing everything she said and nodded, "Alright, you kids stay here." He walked back to the rest of the police officers.

"Thank you Tommy," Devine said, looking at her boyfriend. "I should've done something to help you. I'm sorry. I'm a horrible girlfriend, I know." "No, no," Tommy said, holding her hand. "Don't ever say that, Devine. You're an amazing girlfriend." Devine nodded and sighed.

"Devine? Oh my god!" Cindy said with wide eyes, walking over to them. "Wh- What happened? Did you get hurt? Please tell me you're okay-" "I'm fine, Cindy," Devine said, interrupting her. "I'm fine. We're fine. We're okay. Where's Ziggy?"

"I just finished talking to her," Cindy said. "She was telling me that Nurse Lane was acting strange."

Devine sighed, "Is she upset? I know she liked Nurse Lane."

Cindy nodded, "Yeah, she's upset. She wanted to know if anybody talked bad about her daughter, Ruby Lane." Devine raised her eyebrow. "Wait, she's Ruby Lane's mother?" she asked, sounding confused.

"Yeah, you didn't know?" Cindy said, furrowing her eyebrows. "People are saying that she snapped like her daughter did."

Devine shook her head, glancing at Tommy. "Nurse Lane was always nice to me," she said. "I don't know why she would try to hurt us." Cindy sighed, "I'm gonna go find Ziggy. Make sure she doesn't get in any more trouble." Devine nodded and watched her walk off.

There was something strange going on, and Devine knew it.
