"do you know what happened to 'butcher courier' book?"
"Haha, apparently the publication of the book has canceled."
"they're probably afraid of the public's reactions and bashing them"
Two men were currently gossiping as they walked passed you, at this moment you were waiting on your co-worker Mamiya to grab a drink from the vending machine.
"Hey, [f/n] can we go to the roof? It feels stuffy and packed in here" Mamiya asked, looking at the ground instead of [e/c] eyes, as if something was on her mind.
As you gave her a nod of approval, you both began to go up the long range of stairs that led to the rooftop, after a long moment of silence Mamiya spoke up again.
"I wanted to tell you about this report I got... It's been troubling me lately and I wanted some advice."
"Oh ok, I'm all ears." You reply with a small smile.
As you both opened the door to the roof top, you both were met with a certain dark haired man leaning against the railing.
"Ah chief Dan" Mamiya said surprised.
The said man turns around giving both of you a charming smile.
"Taking a break?" Mamiya asked Dan as the two of you walk towards him.
Dan let's out a sigh, "... I'm having a problem."
You and Mamiya both looked at Dan, confused by this.
"When I tried to remake my mug, I miscalculated the ingredients and the results turned out to be unsatisfactory" Dan stated while having a sad look on his face as if it was the most heartbreaking news ever.
Mamiya turns to you with a confused looked and you shrugged in response.
"I'm doing pottery as a hobby." Dan added.
"Oh! That's amazing." Mamiya exclaimed.
"Ah that's cool! pottery seems like a fun hobby" You say trying to cheer the man up.
"Then that coffee mug of yours must be your doing..." Mamiya said with sparkling eyes, looking excited.
Dan then extended his arm, revealing the coffee mug to the two of us which had a small animal engraved on it.
"...that's... a cute cat...?" Mamiya said nervously unsure if what she was seeing was right.
"Oh..? I thought it was a rabbit." You mumbled.
"It's a bunny." Dan said to us while taking a sip from his mug.
Mamiya then opened up her drink and started drinking it.
You on the other hand had no drink with you, so you just stood looking down at the city buildings. 'We're so high up..'
There was a moment of silence between the three of you until Dan spoke up.
"What's troubling you Mamiya?"
"...!" Mamiya looked surprised at this. "How..." she said to him.
"It shows on your face. Anger... sadness...after all you're not good at hiding it." Dan tells her.
"I guess I can't fool you..." she replies with a sigh of defeat.
"I've received a report from a Junior college student. A 21 year old female student. This is also what I wanted to speak to you about [f/n].." Mamiya tells the two of you and begins to explain what exactly happened.
"Her reports stated that she attended a drinking party with her friends. Hosted by another University student, a private one. Like any other drinking party, one of the male students suggested a batsu game. As a punishment, the loser will drink a glass of bear. The girls were all drunk and have vague memories of how and what time they left the store. The three men called a taxi for the other two girls except for yasuno-San. All three of them accompanied her and went in a different taxi. By the time she regained consciousness, she was ganged raped in a unfamiliar room. When she woke up the next day she was abandoned in a ally near the station. One month after the incident she was brave enough to report about the rape. I advised her to do the rape-kit tools at the hospital and make a formal report to the police station.... she did what I asked."
After her long story there then was a moment of silence, after awhile she took a sip of her drink, and spoke again.
"But... fortunately. The test results came back negative with any STD and pregnancy. The men denied any involvement and there's also a lack of evidence. I feel like I'm hopeless... there's nothing I can do."
After hearing all of that you gently pat her back and gave her an understanding smile. Not knowing what you could say to cheer the girl up.
"If there's anything I can do to help you just tell me." Dan finally spoke up.
"Yeah same here" you added on trying to cheer her up the best you could.
"Thank you guys so much for the offer... I should get going now.." Mamiya said and walked off leaving both you and Dan alone with one another.

Dan was doing the same thing he did when the two of you first met.
'Does he have an eye problem or something...' you thought to yourself while staring at him, not sure what was going on.
"Is something the mater [L/n]?" Dan asked and turned his head in your direction.
"A-ah no." You say startled, feeling your face warm up a bit from being caught.
There then was another awkward moment of silence between the two of you.
"Do you have a favorite animal?" Dan asked suddenly.
"Oh Um a [f/a], I think they're cute" you reply with a small chuckle. 'What a random question to ask'
He then gave you a quick nod and began to smile.
"Your break is about to end soon, I think you should get going" he said to you.
Taking out your cellphone you saw that he was right and you had about 5 minutes left till your break was over.
"Oh crap you're right! Goodbye Dan see you later!" You say, give him a quick wave, as you hurriedly start walking away from the man to go back to work.
In response Dan gave you a wave back.
