THE BASEMENT

CHAPTER 1

  Steph POV

"I HATE SCHOOL!!!" I yelled while slamming the door of my locker. As I turned around everyone was staring at me. "WHAT?" I yelled again. and they stopped staring at me. I rolled my eyes then I started walking to my class.

I took the staircase, as I was wondering what topic are we going to study today. as I took a step someone called my name and I turned around. Walking to me with a huge smile was my friend Natalie. 

"~Good Morning~" she greeted me as she always does. 

"Hey!" I said with a smile.

"~Summer holidays are starting from tomorrow ,I'm so excited to do the summer stuff that we're gonna do together~" she said.

"I'm looking forward to spend the holidays at Elina's countryside house....why don't you join us? Ree is also coming" I asked her.

Our school bell rang and we raced to our class.

Miss Julia was already in the class.

'Oh shoot she's already here ,now she's going to yell at us' I thought as I looked at Natalie and she was as scared as me.

"why are you both late?" Miss Julia asked.

'Now what am I supposed to tell her that we were chatting at the corridors?' I thought as I looked at Natalie who was also looking at me and I bet she is thinking the same as me. 

"Whatever the reason is I don't have time for this ,just take your seats" Miss Julia said. as I sighed in relief. 

" Wait! " Miss Julia said, which made us stop. Beads of sweat running down our face, as we looked at each other.

" Where's Valerie? " Miss Julia asked.

" Umm..... Well they- " I was bout to say something but got cut off.

" She's not here!" Nate yelled. My eyes went wide on her tone.

" Well I can surely see that she's not here that's why I'm asking... Where. Is. She.? " Miss Julia asked again.

" Yes of course you can see! Umm.. she's not here! Like here like in the school!! " Nate said.

' what is she doing? But whatever she's doing its not working.... She's panicking' I thought.

" Not in the school? Why she left the school? " Miss Julia asked.

" Actually Miss Julia the thing is that- " I said but She started talking in between.

" Whatever! I'll just ask the principal later. Now take you're seats, you both. " Miss Julia said and we sat on our seats.

"So class as you know that from tomorrow onwards you are having your summer breaks........." and just like this Miss Julia gave us a whole 40 minute lecture. and we took 2-3 more classes of art, psychology......

Our school bell rang once again and this time it's for recess.

 "Let's go to the cafeteria" Natalie said. and I hummed.

We both head towards our school cafeteria.

When we stepped inside the cafeteria here we saw our two friends: Ree and Eli.

'I was wondering this whole time where these two were?? and here they are enjoying bunking their classes???'I thought.

"Hey!!! Nate!!!Steph!!!" Ree screamed attracting the whole cafeteria's attention towards her and waving her hands out.

we walked towards them and Ree bought some sandwiches and apple juice for us.

"Here" Natalie said and passed some notes towards Ree and Eli. Ree was about to take the notes as I snatched them before she could even touch them.

"Are you serious ,Nate???" I said. "Where were you both the whole day???" I asked them.

"I was in the art teacher's room, helping her with the props of the upcoming dance competition. Miss Julia already knew that I won't be joining the class this morning" Eli said, sipping on her drink.

" Oh, that's why she didn't ask bout you... And you, Ree?" Nate asked Ree who was stuffing her mouth with the sandwiches.

' I don't think she even heard what we're talking bout cause of her food' I thought while face palming myself.

" Ree! Where were you?? " Nate asked once again.

" Huh? Me? Oh I was in the backyard of the school with some friends of mine. Hehe" Ree said.

" HeHe!" I mimicked her and then slapped her arm. She slapped me back but hard so I slapped her again.

" Hey guys! Stop! Stop! What are you both doing!? Fighting like a baby in the middle of the cafeteria!? Shut it guys!" Eli yelled at us and we came back to out senses and sat on our seats again.

{ Few minutes later.....}

In the girl's washroom.....

" Come one let's go!" Nate said.

" Shhh! There's an echo system here can't you see, stupid? Keep it low. We're just waiting for Ree" Anny said

" I'm here guys... Let'ssss go! " Ree said and we left for our class.

We entered our classroom to see that the teacher was not here yet.

" Oh what a relief! No one's here yet!" Ree said and took her seat as I sat on the table in front of her.

Nate sat on her seat and so did Eli. " So you guys are coming to the countryside house with me right?" Eli asked and we nodded.

" Of course we are!" Ree said. " Yup! We could never leave a chance like this" I said.

Eli smiled at us and was gonna say something but got cut off in between.

" Valerieeee!!!!" Someone yelled. We looked back to see a classmate of our's coming to us.

I as confused as Ree was. " Did you do something? " I asked Ree.

" What!? Noooo! I was not even here in the first place! How can I??" Ree said and we looked at the girl to find her standing just behind me.

" Valerie! You left the school!?? And you didn't tell me??? Whyy!?" She yelled in my ears.

" You left the what now...?" Eli said, turning to Ree.

" You left the school!? " Nate asked.

" You. Left. The. School....???" I asked.

" I left the school? When?" Ree said, just as surprised as us. 

" Huh? You don't know? The whole class is talking bout it. Nate was the one who told Miss Julia that you left the school! " She said pointing at Nate.

" Nate?" Ree said and we all looked at Nate.

" What? Nooo. I was not the one! Why would you say that??" Nate asked the girl.

" Wait! I think I know what's happening.. Look it's a misunderstanding... Tell the class that she didn't leave the school." I told the girl and she left.

" Man! You're not at school for one time and they think that you left the whole world! " Ree said.

We laughed at her. The rest of the students came running in and took their seats, so did we.Just took our seats and we heard someone say....
