Brahms was a little displeased that Isabelle did not even try the pearl necklace he took from his mother's drawer...

His mother...

They should be coming home any minute from now. Brahms felt a sense of dread as he thinks about his parent's departure. He had avoided thinking about it until now. He did not want to think about the possibility of...

No.

Surely, they're already on their way back.

-------------------------------

The clock on the wall shows that it's 8 in the evening. Isabelle just finished doing half of the laundry, cooking, cleaning, and now, she'd about to put Brahms to bed. She checked the schedule the Heelshires left for her. Give Brahms a goodnight kiss. Seems easy enough, if only she isn't starting to get freaked out by the doll. It's eyes looked so real, why hadn't she noticed this before?

Taking a deep breath, she decided to just go for it. She closed her eyes shut and went for a quick barely-there-peck.

"Done." she exclaimed and almost run towards her room. She shut the door and tried to catch her breath. "Get yourself together, Isabelle." she reprimanded herself.

She checked her phone for any messages from the Heelshires. It's getting late, and they're still not back from their trip. She sigh and prayed that they're alright. They might be odd but they're good people.

She quickly dressed into her nightwear and turned off the lights. For some reason, Isabelle couldn't shake the feeling of someone watching her. She's going nuts, she thought. After a quick thought, she decided to just leave the lights on and bury herself deep under the covers. She fell asleep then.

-------------------------------

Brahms is getting worried. It's 12 midnight, and his parents had not returned. What had happened? Where are they? Did they forget about Brahms?

He paced and paced. He couldn't bring himself to sleep, he's too antsy.

The dawn breaks. And Brahms is angry.

Brahms will teach them a lesson when they get back, he thought.

Isabelle woke up a few minutes later and wasted no time in doing her chores. She hums as she gathered the freshly cleaned laundry from the backyard where she hanged them to dry. Her humming calmed Brahms a little.

At exactly 7am, she woke the doll up and proceeded to do his usual morning schedule. Wake up, get dressed, eat, lesson, music.

Isabelle then went to gather the daily post. She was surprised as she spotted a letter with Brahms' name on it aside from the daily newspaper.

"From the Heelshires?" she asked herself.

Coming back to the house, Isabelle opened the letter and situated herself in front of the doll. "Look Brahms, a letter." she said. She does not have a good feeling about this. Clearing her throat, Isabelle started to read the letter.

"Our dearest son, words cannot describe our heartbreak as we leave you now. We will not be back. We simply cannot bear to live with what we have allowed you to become. The girl is yours now-" What? she mumbled to herself as she continued reading the letter. "She is yours to love and care for. May God forgive us all. Love always, Mummy & Daddy XX" Isabelle's hands shook as she put the letter down. What on earth are the Heelshires up to?
