"WOULD THE TWO of you stop sucking face already? I'm trying to hold my breakfast in over here."
Alistair and his girlfriend ignored Lyle's complaints, continuing to practically swallow each other whole in the car park of Blackstone.
"Knock it off." I slammed the car bonnet, diverting their attention as Heira and Faye came over, wide grins on their faces. I sighed when the former went up to Kaiden, giving him a huge hug.
"Those two seriously need to fuck and get on with it already," Lyle commented, making everyone groan. "What? It's just the truth."
"We're just friends, dickhead," Kaiden repeated for the nth time, slapping the back of Lyle's head.
"Anyway." Lyle rolled his eyes, moving to sit on the front of his car. "Did you hear about the new student? Someone was enrolled in last minute."
I cocked an eyebrow. "How do you know about that?"
"Keep up, Vanderbildt. News spreads like a wildfire around here."
"Or maybe you just stick your nose in places where it doesn't belong unlike the rest of us," I countered, loosening my tie as it started to dig into my neck.
"It's called being social. Not that you'd know anything about that."
"Okay, you guys," Malena — Alistair's girlfriend — interrupted softly. "What else do you know about the new student, Lyle?"
He grinned. "She is a she."
We all rolled our eyes simultaneously but Faye suddenly gasped. "Shit. I, um, left something in my car. Be right back!"
She vacated the place like her tail was on fire and I rolled my eyes, wondering where she got the energy to be so dramatic at eight in the morning.
"Anything else?" I asked Lyle.
"Not really." His lips thinned. "We'll find out soon enough anyway. It's almost time for the bell."
It turned out that we didn't need to wait till we went inside to find out who the new girl was because suddenly, an unfamiliar black Maybach pulled into the car park, honking loudly at any student in the way.
Before the driver could come around to do his job, a slim hand pushed the back door open, her watch beaming in the sunlight as a long, golden leg slinked out, hair swishing to the side as she stepped out of the car and shut the door with her hip. Her back was to us, thick black tresses hiding her face. She leaned down to talk to the driver, whatever she said making him frown and shake his head. The ring on her finger glistened in the sun with her hand gestures as she argued with the driver. Finally, he nodded grimly as she stood upright, the windows rolling up.
