You had met Levi when he friest joined the Survey Corps. He never really understood why you didn't judge him for being from the underground, but he appreciated it over time. For a while, you were the only person he trusted other than Erwin.

Over the course of around two years he started to pick up on your habits, how you took care of the new recruits so cautiously and tried your best to help everyone, as well as how you'd vanish every day after the work was over. He'd try to get information, but it was a different rumor from anyone he spoke to. And Erwin refused to say anything straight forward. Any time he approached you about it, you'd brush it off and bring up something else.

He really didn't intend to pry, but, as you leave after work is finished today, he spotted you and decided to follow.

Levi watches as you head out and through the treeline by the base. He told himself it's only fair he tries to help with whatever is burdening you. Though if anyone asks, his response is simply that secrets are the downfall of a squad.

It only takes about five minutes before he sees you open a gate and walk into a yard area. A woman who looks practically identical to you steps out of the house and a little girl, around six years old, runs ahead of the woman.

"MOM!" The little girl, Lyra, yells and jumps into your arms.

"Hey baby girl. We're you good for auntie?" You coo and pick her up.

"Yeah!" She smiles brightly.

Levi's eyes widen slightly at the scene before him, and it distracts him enough that he doesn't notice the twig under his foot until after it snaps loudly.

You turn at the sudden sound, now unable to write it off as your mind playing tricks on you in the dark woods. "Who's there? Come out now." You demand.

You really expect it to be one of the cadets, and are ready to give them punishment for disobeying your lights out command, but instead Levi comes out.

"You... Why are you following me?" You question confused.

"I was trying to figure out what it was that kept you out so late." He answers casually, though there's clearly more to it.

"Who is this guy following you? If you try to hurt mom, I'll hurt you!" Lyra calls out.

You laugh at her outburst, "He's a friend from work. He's safe sweetie."

"Oh ok..." she nods.

Your sister sighs, "I'll head out for the night, you three play nice." She waves and heads to where her horse is tied up.

You nod and look to Levi, "Well, come on in. I'll put on some tea after getting Lyra here to sleep." You then turn and head inside.

Levi follows, still a bit bewildered.

"But I want to stay up with you and your friend..." Lyra whines some.

You giggle, "Do you see how dark it is? You need your sleep if you're to go out to town tomorrow."

"Yes Mama..." She sighs.

You gester to Levi to go to the kitchen, where he then sits at the table and waits.

It doesn't take long for you to get Lyra to sleep and you head out and put a kettle on the stove to warm the water. "I'm guessing you have a lot of questions." You turn and lean on the counter.

He nods, "I do. For start, why are you a scout if you have a daughter?"

You nod, "Easy, I want to ensure my daughter has a future."
