Izuku opened the first book. The day where all the pain began. The day of the quirk doctor.

He sat there and watched through the memory. The doctor told him that he didn’t have a quirk. He’d never be a hero. The disappointed look his mother had on her face as she thanked the doctor and got up with him. He looked back and saw an evil smirk on the doctor's face. The Doctor lied.

He watched as they got home and his mother told his father. He watched his father angrily yell and shout, fire spewing out of his mouth. He shouted “No son of mine will be quirkless!” Watching him slap his mom hard. “This is your fault! Your pathetic genes ruined him!” He soon turned to small him and started to burn him with his fire. “You’re useless and pathetic.”

Little Izuku cried out and begged his father to not hurt him or his mom. He didn’t listen, he kept hitting, kicking, and spewing fire at both of them. He did it for hours, never letting up, intent to kill clear in his eyes.

Hours later, Hisashi Midoriya stood puffing over his wife and son. “You’re no son of mine.” He looked at Izuku. “And you’re no wife.” He looked to Inko, who was begging him not to hurt her. “Pathetic whore. At least I got my bitch pregnant.” Inko stared at her husband in horror. “I just had a feeling that the useless thing you call a son wouldn’t be anything. So I went and got a breeding bitch of my own, she’s already pregnant with twins. And I can already feel that they’ll be powerful.” He cackled as he left them there.

Little Izuku was just barely able to pull himself up and start helping his mom, ignoring his own injuries. “Momma...It will be okay.”

Inko didn’t talk or look at her son, just silently stared at where her used-to-be husband stood as he beat them. All because they made an offspring that turned out to be quirkless. That said offspring was helping her get to the couch and patch her up. The little shit that caused the man she loved to cheat on her and leave, was patching her wounds. She blankly stared at little Izuku.

It had been mere weeks later when she hit him for the first time. He had gotten blood on her carpet when he got home after being bullied. She had hit him on the back with a hot iron skillet. He passed out and didn’t wake up until a few days later. She hit him every week after that. Then every four days. Then every two. Then everyday. And Everyday turned into being beaten for hours while she shouted at him that it was his fault that Hisashi had left her.

Izuku went into his shell after that. He was breaking little by little everyday. He fully broke four years later when he saw his father in a park with two little four year olds breathing fire like he does. He closed off after that, only ever showing his true self when he got to watch a hero fight. But of course that also had to change when All Might told him he could never be a hero.

Izuku sat at the base of the book case as he read his life, silent tears streaming down his face. A hand was placed on his shoulder. He looked up and saw Lavenza smiling gently down at him. “This is no place to feel sorry for the hand you’ve been dealt in the game called life. Stand tall, you will break all the odds.”

He nods. “Yeah...Yeah okay.” He stood up. “Thank you.”

“It is my pleasure to help you.” She smiled at him before moving to stand next to Igor again.

“How….How do I get out of here? I’ve….I’ve gone through my life again..”

“Well, the question is, do you want to? Go back to that life? Go back to the world that hurt you the most?”

Izuku looked down, frowning. He was right, the world hurt him too much.

“And abandon all the friends you’ve made along the way?” Lavenza spoke up before she opened her book and three cards floated above it. The Fool, The Justice, and The Chariot.

“Whos….Whos the Chariot?”

The card floated towards him and floated in front of him. He picked it up and looked over it. A memory hit him hard.

Katsuki, as a child, stood in front of him with a smile and held his hand out to him. That was after he had fallen and Katsuki promised to take him on an adventure. There had been a breaking noise that they thought had been something else at the time. His quirk showed itself...then covered itself.

“My quirk activated years ago…”

But you weren’t strong enough to summon me, didn’t have the will.”

Izuku slowly nodded, that actually did make sense.

“I want….I want to leave…” He nodded determinedly. “I want to go back to my friends, my new family.”

Igor smiled. “Then go home.” A blue door appeared next to the desk.

Izuku blinked. “Could you do that the whole time!”

Igor simply laughed.

“Unbelievable.”

No, that's completely believable if it's coming from this man.”

Izuku sighed and opened the door. “I’m going home.”

Arsène nodded and disappeared. “I’ll be with you till the end of the line.” His voice faded out as the world went white around him.

He heard a light beeping next to him as his eyes stayed closed. He felt the hospital bed under him, the thin blanket over him. The hand holding his. Who was holding his hand? The hand was warm.

He slowly opened his eyes, the room was dark. He slightly turned his head to the left to see Katsuki asleep holding his hand. He looked to his right and saw Mitsuki and Masaru asleep leaning against each other in some chairs. He looked at the foot of the bed and saw get well cards, flowers, and candies.

Tears gathered as he looked back over to Katsuki and squeezed his hand. “Ka...tsu...ki..”

Katsuki let out a soft sound and slowly blinked awake. He didn’t look at him as he looked at their hands and softly kissed Izuku’s. “Wake up Zu…”

“Ka..tsu….ki..” Izuku squeezed his hand.

The blond's head snapped up and his eyes widened. “Izuku!” He quickly stood up. “Mom! Dad!” He looked to his parents.

The two adults slowly woke up. “What is it son?”

“Zu’s awake!” That got the two awake quickly.

“Oh sweetie!” Mitsuki stood up and went over to his bedside. “How are you feeling?” She gently ran a hand through his hair.

“W...Wat...Water…?”

Masaru nodded and got the water cup as Katsuki helped Izuku sit up. “You had us so worried.” Mararu handed the water to his wife.

Mitsuki helped Izuku drink slowly. “Go get a nurse dear?”

“Of course.” He left the room.

Katsuki helped Izuku lay back down after he drank some water. “How do you feel?”

“Dull pain...”

“The pain medication might be running out.” Mitsuki gently ran her hand through his hair again.

“Just glad...to be back..”

She smiled. “We’re happy you’re awake.” She leaned down and gently kissed his head.
