"It's arriving today," Noah said while twisting a strand of his already ridiculously curly mop. After much debate, he'd told me earlier this week that the surprise was a parcel. I hid my grin, still a little concerned of coming off too strong. We'd been friends for more than a month now, it wasnt exactly a lot but we talked a few times per week, with our parents, siblings and friends making appearances in the frequent facetimes we shared. I swear Noah's siblings Jemma and Jacobi are the absolute cutest, and if we ever got the chance to meet in real life, I know they would get along really well with Maggie. The three of them combined really would be a force to be reckoned with.
"Oh, so I see," I said while picking at my nails.
"Y/N stop faking it or I'll bitch slap you."
Yeah right, he doesn't have a bad bone in his beautiful body. SHIT I BETTER NOT HAVE SAID THAT OUT LOUD.
"Y/N?"
"Huh?"
"I said what time does the mail come?"
"Uhhh usually like 2?"
"And what time is it now?" I checked my watch.
"1:50."
"Ok great so I called at a good time. You better open it in front of me I wanna see you reaction." This situation felt kind of off, but not necessarily in a bad way. He was really antsy, and I wasn't exactly sure why. Regardless, I brushed it off and continued making our easy banter that I adored until I heard a sharp knock on my front door. My family were all out walking our beautiful Dalmatian, Pin so I was the one who answered the postie.
"I think the parcel has come, do you want me to leave my phone in here or bring me with you?"
"Uhhhh bring me please"
I picked up my phone, got the parcel and went back to my bedroom.
"Can I open it?"
"Duh," He said, rolling his eyes.
I smirked "Ok then, Imma open it now."
I unwrapped the layers of box, wrapping paper and tissue paper to reveal a candle. What? It was literally just a plain white candle. I put on a fake smile to hide my disappointment.
"Uhhh thank you! I love it! It's so prettyyy."
"Light it. It's vanilla scented. There's more to it." There was that antsy feeling again. I grabbed my electric candle lighter from my bedside drawer and lit it.
"Ok now let's talk for about 10 minutes and enjoy it's smell."
"Boi you're ridiculously sus right now."
"Shut up you've gotta be patient and aLl WiLl Be ReVeAlEd." He twiddled with the rings on his fingers and I couldn't contain myself from smiling. Alone, Noah was attractive. With those rings and earrings and necklaces, he was hot as shit. NO SERIOUSLY WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS BOY DOING TO ME.
"Y/N look at the candle," he whispered, appearing extremely nervous.
"Sure," I followed Noah's orders, both confused and excited. Carefully placed in the centre of the candle, just visible through the once opaque yellowish white wax were 22 letter beads, spelling out 'Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Y/N? Did you read it?"
"Actually? Are you for real?" He nodded, smiling shyly. "Yes. Y/N, will you be my girlfriend?"
"DUDE IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION OF COURSE!" Noah broke into a wide smile, laughing heartily. "I'm so glad you said yes, or else my plane tickets to Melbourne would've been collecting dust."
"HOLY SHIT YOURE COMING TO HERE?"
"YES"
"IS JACOBI AND JEMMA AND YOUR PARENTS COMING?"
"YES"
"HOW LONG ARE YOU COMING FOR?"
"FOREVER"
"WAIT WHAT?"
"DAD'S JOINING THE PRODUCTION COMPANY OF A MELBOUNE BASED STUDIO SO WERE ALL MOVING HERE TO BE WITH HIM"
"OH MY GOD YAY"
"Noahhhhh is that y/n?" Noah turned to Jemma "It sure is"
"Did you tell her the things?"
"Yep, and she said yes!"
"YAY y/n you wanna come over when we move to our new house?"
"I guess so, when are you guys moving?"
"Noah give me your phone I'm talking to y/n now, JACOBI COME HERE AND TALK TO Y/N WITH ME" Jacobi ran into the room and plopped on Noah's bed and pushed him out the door
"ONCE YOU GUYS ARE DONE GIVE ME MY PHONE BACK, BYE Y/N"
"haha, bye noahhhh" I singsonged.
I spent almost 2 whole hours planning what I was going to do with the kids, and I promised to bring Maggie over as long as she was finished with school, since I got let out an hour before she did. So I set my alarm for the 14th of April, 5 days from now in which the Jupes would arrive in Melbourne. For the second time that month, I said to myself 'woah, that just happened.' Noah Jupe, THE NOAH JUPE was my FUCKING BOYFRIEND! I picked up the candle he gave me and began calling the list of friends and family who had already been aware of my feelings, swearing them all to secrecy in the process, as I was still unsure if Noah wanted to make our relationship public, which I respected.
