"healing is an art,
it takes time.
it takes practice.
it takes love."

The Ministry was packed for a Tuesday and Kira suspected it had something to do with a meeting with the Heads of all the Departments that was going on.

Her shift had ended early, and now she made her way through the people coming in and out of the Ministry to reach an area where she could apparate home.

3 weeks had passed since the defeat of Voldemort and the death of two of her friends. Not much had changed other than Charlie attending his first year at Hogwarts and her hair, which she had cut to her shoulders.

To everyone's surprise, Charlie was not sorted into Ravenclaw like the rest of his siblings, but rather Hufflepuff. Kira supposed it did make sense. He was always the most fair and most hardworking of the group of them.

She apparated to Rose Manor and dropped her bag on the floor as soon as she entered the door. She slipped off her high heels and sighed, taking in the two boxes she still had to sort.

Last week she went to her old home she bought with Regulus to gather her things, and his, to bring them to Rose Manor. It had taken a lot of convincing from Evan and Ava but eventually she agreed and the three of them went together.

She had brought several boxes back and was nearly done sorting them all out. Most of Regulus' things went to the attic to store, but she left bits and bobs of his around the house as reminders that he was still there, watching over her.

She got a cup of coffee and sat down on the living room floor and began taking things out of one of the boxes.

This one was from her cupboard. She folded some old clothes she never wore and sent them to her room with the flick of her hand. She came across old photographs of her and her friends at Hogwarts. Most were of her and Ava but as she got towards the end of the pile Evan and Regulus began to appear in them as well.

She would have to put them in an album and in some frames. Her ones from after Hogwarts were all already hung up or in a photo album in her room.

She reached a hand into the box and pulled out an envelope. "Odd," she muttered turning it over.

Her heart stopped as she read her name written in Regulus' elegant handwriting.

She gently peeled open the envelope and opened the letter inside. It was dated the same day he died. He wrote this letter before he died.

"Kira, My Love,

I don't know if we'll make up after our little argument or not, but I am leaving. I have to do this. I hope you can understand.

I'm writing this because I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to say these words to you. I may die tonight. I'm not scared of dying, so don't worry about me. I know I'll miss you though, so I will fight with everything in me to make it back home to you.

You are the light that shone in my darkness. You make me happier than I ever thought possible. You loved me when I didn't think I could be loved. Me? Of all people, you fell for me.

I hope I can come back and say this all to you. To tell you how beautiful you are when you smile, or when you frown. You're always beautiful. I want to run my hands through your hair and kiss you until my lips are bruised and we're both gasping for breath. I want to fall asleep next to you and feel your fingers run little patterns over my arms. These are the things that I will be thinking about when I'm getting the Horcrux. I'll be thinking of you and I'll be fighting for you.

And if I don't come back, promise me you'll be okay. That you'll move forward and keep on living. You're strong, don't let this break you.

I love you more than life itself, my beautiful rose,
Regulus"

When Kira had read through the entire letter, tears streamed down her faces. She was holding her knees to her chest. She did not know when she had done that, but she hugged her legs tighter.

She missed him so much. They were supposed to have a life together.

Why did the world have to take all the good people? Sure it had taken some bad people, like Voldemort. Many of his Death Eaters were in Azkaban.

But the people like Regulus? James? Lily? They did not deserve to die while people like her father got to live. He was still out there, in hiding. She hoped she would never have to see him again.

She packed away the rest of the things in the boxes and then sent an owl to Aurelia.

"I'm coming with you to France."

This would an opportunity to heal. To start fresh.
The world would keep taking and the most she could do was keep walking.

So I know I said like two chapters ago there was 7 chapters left, 5 now. Umm but actually this is the last one, second last if you count the epilogue sooooo yeah :)

But don't worry, this does not mean it's the end ;)

Also sorry for some of the mistakes I will be coming back to edit the story and polish it up at a later date. <3
