Y/n POV

Two days have passed since my departure from Beijing. IS mechs have been seen everywhere searching the land. During my travels I colored my tarp a forest green to hide myself from the eyes in the sky.

The open land is massive which poses a great risk of detection from land units and people. Clouds above gave way to medium rain. As the droplets rain on my tart and my chassis.

Imagine it. Grey clouds with rain across the open field. The soft breeze as the grass sways like waves and the sound of rain falling. My pilot would've loved this. I never where I came from the militia said that I was born after an attack and that they gave me a new purpose.

My pilot would sit on the porch of his home while I sat beside him to watch the sun fall on the horizon. I wonder how the militia is progressing. The battle that sent me here was immense. An IMC fleet ambushed us outside the orbit of Kelostov 3.

(Alarm signal)

I look to the sky to see Pilots searching above. A tree line was 1 mile in front of me. My thruster fuel is almost gone. Instead I move the tarp and I lower my body to the ground to blend in with the grass.

The pilots speak to each other over their comms. As they hover over my positions they seem to not notice me. I hold still keeping a grip on the tarp. They fly over me and continue onward. I wait for a few more minutes until I move from the ground.

The pilots were gone it was safe to continue. I increased my movement speed to reach the forest. Once inside I checked my weapon. Still functional but I only had 10 remaining magazines left. I won't be able to restock in this reality. I need to make everything count.

Battery level is low it needs to recharge. I detect a small power grip 2 kilometers ahead. I can siphon the power to recharge my battery.  Over efficiency has fallen down to 67% I must be conservative until then. I check the map to see that I have entered the lands of Mongolia. This forest was the border between China and Mongolia.

Intelligence shows that Mongolia is known for its vast ranges and mountains. There is a strange calmness to it all. Living alone. It's a solemn yet comforting feeling. I don't know why but i feel emotions.

(Alert)

The same signal again. It's gotta be the militia contacting me. If it's possible I can find another antenna and contact them. Maybe I can find my pilot.

I need to hurry. I rush through the forest trying my best to ration my remaining energy. After a few minutes I can see the end of the forest. Up ahead I see and old abandoned garage. It hasn't been used in approximately 35 years. Maybe there are batteries that I can use. I can also make repairs as well.

As I walked towards the entrance I opened the doors and I saw old tanks and RVs. I made the assumption that that this was an old garage used during ww2. The materials from the tanks would suffice as armor replacement. My battery hatch has taken significant damage from the tower escape.

I dismantle the first few tanks harvesting the batteries and other mechanisms for my own. I managed to find a total of 6 batteries with average filled stores. I used a nearby saw cut off parts of the armor and place them on my body as necessary.

There was also fuel in the tanks the was still in good condition. I took what was Available and I recharged my jets. The HE rounds in the tanks would also make for good ammo for my cannon.

When all possible preparations were made I hooked up my core to the batteries and I went into sleep mode to recharge.

Dream

I stand in complete blackness once more and yet I can here the voices more clearly this time.

"Test are proceeding excellently this could be the breakthrough we need to win the war." The same scientist spoke.

"Finally the next evolution of humanity is within our grasp. If the final test is a success then we can begin preparations for the other subjects. Continue as you are." It was the authoritarian voice again.

But what were they talking about?

Dream end

I was woken by the sound of rain. It was heavy with the occasional thunder. This will provide good cover from the skies for the time being.

I look to see that I was at a hundred percent and the batteries were all drained. I took the ammo and I checked the armor plates to see if they were attached.

I was set to move out. I check the map database to find and old radio station 2 kilometers northwest. It was from there I can find the source of the signal.

I exited the garage as I looked back on it one final time as I began my journey once more.
