Hop and Roseanne exchange a glance. Roseanne speaks first.
"The Endorsement Test was launched by our school. It's kind of a scholarship to a trainer's license."
She looks down.
" Colleen really wants to be Champion, so she asks us to tell her everything about the Test. But Hop wasn't allowed to, and Colleen has had a grudge ever since. So fast forward to now."
Roseanne looks at Hop for permission to keep going, and he nods.
"We didn't think it would be today, so none of us studied, right? Wrong. Turns out Maisie, Nigel, and Victor went to the Professor's lab the day Leon came back, so they could be ready for whatever happened after."
I think I've heard of the professor.... Wasn't I supposed to go there the other day to study?
"They just told us today, and now everything is falling apart, because everyone is afraid they'll go home without a letter."
"They've been handling it all really well up until now, and I think this was the breaking point." As the girl finishes, her brown eyes well up with tears.
She places her head in her hands, red hair falling out of its original style.
A quiet sobbing could be heard. This went on for a minute, with both you and Hop trying to comfort her.
After a moment, she stopped, wiped her eyes, brushed her hair behind her, and apologizes.
"I'm sorry Lissie, Hop, it just hurts me to see them like this."
I know how that feels, and it hurts, but at least I have you all.
Instead of speaking your mind, you hug Roseanne, a wordless, soundless hug.
She sighs, and says she feels better.
You smile. " I think we should probably find the other four before they find the dessert table!"
Roseanne and Hop laugh. "Good idea!"
You venture off to find Victor, Nigel, Maisie and James.
Before you could get to them, Hop slaps his forehead with his hand.
"Maisie found the dessert table."
Roseanne looks horrified. "They haven't even eaten dinner yet! Those sweet teeth!"
You laugh. " There went all hope of stopping them, I think Nigel saw the candy corn. Hmm, I might join them."
Roseanne nods. " Me too!"
Now it's Hop's turn to look horrified. "NOT THE CANDY CORN."
You run over to the foursome, followed by Roseanne dragging Hop along.
