The car twisted down the curvy road as the couple left the restaurant. With a small and content smile on her lips, Y/n had her head leaned back and eyes cast out the window. The sun was setting in the distance as Tobirama drove them home. After a few months of living with the man, Y/n was growing used to their routines.

She's spoken to Izuna multiple times. Madara has refused to see his sister. He's even declined to take her calls. Tobirama has stormed into the office building many times, but he's politely told to leave the moment he enters the lobby. Y/n didn't regret choosing her happiness over her brother- it didn't hurt any less.

Tobirama took hold of Y/n's hand and kissed the back of it as he laced his fingers into hers. Y/n looked over and offered him a smile before sitting up more. Finally noticing where they were, Y/n grew anxious. Sensing the woman's unease, Tobirama squeezed her hand tightly.

"Where are we going?" She knew the road they were on all too well.

Waiting a moment, Tobirama relented, "Relax, Red," seeing the man smile was something that still made Y/n swoon.

That wasn't an answer at all, but Y/n knew he wasn't going to offer anything more. Trying to calm her bouncing nerves, Y/n settled back into her seat. The remainder of the drive was going to be short. Y/n wasn't sure she ever wanted the ride to end.

The driveway in view, Y/n took her hand away. Tobirama frowned as he put the car in park. Then, killing the engine, he moved to exit just as Y/n did. The woman had a hard time getting used to him opening her door. Standing at the front of the car, Y/n's eyes took in the dilapidated house that stood before her.

Taking her hand into his once again, Tobirama tugged her with him. "Not here," he directed, "Quit overthinking."

How could he even suggest such a thing? They bypassed the front of the house and walked to the side. Through the open gate, Tobirama kept walking. Y/n glanced over her shoulder to the back porch. That's where it all began. The first time he called her Red. The first time she called him Blue. The moment their fates were tied to one another.

The Uchiha estate.

No one has lived in the home in over a dozen years now. Madara paid to have it maintained, but that was it. Y/n couldn't understand why Tobirama had brought her here. In the dead of winter. Dressed in their finest clothes after going to dinner. The man wasn't a romantic. And this was the least romantic place Y/n could even fathom.

Through the trees, the couple walked. Every time Y/n asked a question, Tobirama offered her a bland response in return. She trusted the man, but what on earth was he doing? Soft lighting in the distance, Y/n grew more curious than anxious. He had planned something.

Breaking the tree line on the other side, Y/n was stunned. A gazebo was erect near the infamous cliff. "I couldn't build you a house," Tobirama's voice was tender and teasing all at once, "but I thought this might do."

Y/n's tears fell freely as she looked at the man she loved. "What is all of this?"

Pulling her with him, Tobirama offered her an explanation, "I have something for you," he squeezed her hand again, "I wanted to do something so you would never doubt my love for you. I wanted to show you that I remember every detail of our lives together."

The pavilion was light-colored wood. Multiple lanterns hung around the small structure. Candles lit the table that sat in the center of the wooden floor. A fluffy blue blanket was draped over the back of one chair. A short bouquet sat in the middle. Tobirama kept guiding Y/n forward before pulling the chair with the blanket out.

Taking hold of the blanket, Tobirama wrapped it around her shoulders. Once Y/n was settled into her seat, Tobirama moved to sit across from her. Holding his hand out to her, Y/n accepted it with a smile. Y/n's e/c eyes danced with wonder as she took in the contents of the table. A small and delicate dessert lay before each of them.
