"you're positive it was dart?" lucas questioned.

we all were walking back from the junkyard.

"yes, he had the same yellow pattern on his butt." dustin said.

"but he was tiny two days ago-" max jumped in.

"yea but he's molted three times already."

"malted?" steve looked at me.

"molted, it's like when you shed skin." i said to him.

"well, when's he going to molt again?" max asked.

"soon, i guess. when he's done he'll be fully grown or close to it, at least. so will his friends." dustin looked up at the dark trees.

"yea, he'll eat a lot more than just cats." steve joked.

lucas pulled dustin and stopped. "CAT?! dart ate a cat?!"

"no! what? no!" dustin tried to hide it.

"what are you talking about? he ate mews-" i asked.

"mews? whose mews?" max looked at me and steve.

"it's dustin's cat." steve answered.

"KAT! STEVE!" dustin shouted.

"i knew it! you kept him!"

"no! NO! no i-" dustin stuttered. "he missed me! he wanted to come home!

"bullshit!" lucas fought back.

"i didn't know he was a demogorgon!"

"oh! so now you admit it!"

their yells echoed through the forest.

"guys who cares we have to go!" i tried to start moving the group again, but nobody moved.

"i do! you put the party in jeopardy! you broke the rule of law!"

"SO DID YOU!" dustin screamed.

i rolled my eyes.

"what?!" lucas stepped closer to dustin.

"you told a STRANGER the truth!" dustin pointed his flashlight at max.

she scoffed. "A STRANGER?!" she jumped in.

"you wanted to tell her too!" lucas pointed at max.

"i didn't lucas! yea, ok! i didn't tell her! we both broke the rule of law, ok, so we're even!" dustin pushed lucas a little bit.

"no no! we aren't even! don't even try that! your little pet could've eaten us for dinner!"

"that's not my fault!" they kept arguing.

steve walked and faced the woods. "hey guys?" steve asked.

nobody responded.

i got fed up with the fights.

"GUYS!" i shouted.

steve started walking toward the sound.

i followed, and so did dustin and lucas.

"no guys! why are you going towards the sound? hello?! shit!" max then caught up with us.

we made it to an opening, and we could see a building in the middle of the woods.

"i don't see him." dustin said.

"it's the lab. they were going back home." lucas concluded.
