I rubbed my face with my hands feeling something liquid on my hands, I looked at it and was shocked to see a red dark liquid. " blood" I said almost yelling.

how did this happen, I thought it was only a dream, I quickly ran to the bathroom washing the blood off my pale face. I looked at myself in the mirror but to my surprise, not even a cut was on my face. I took a white towel to clean my face before coming out of the bathroom.

I entered the bathroom with my two handmaids, I slid out of my clothes and entered the bathtub. They both helped me wash my hair and scrub my back, and I closed my eyes to enjoy the water's warmth and flower aroma. He reappeared in my head.

"You are going to be mine soon". He mumbled devilishly and vanished.

"Princess Deva". Dariana, one of my handmaids, called, prompting me to open my eyes and breathe deeply.

"You saw him again, right?". I nodded in response to her question.

" don't you think you should tell the queen?". My other maid, Paula, made the suggestion.

"You know my mother, she is not going to answer me." I stated it before closing my eyes.

"You have not given it a try," Dariana stated. Dariana and Paula are my dearest friends; they are also witches. My mother brought them both to me when I was five (5), Dariana was ten, and Paula was nine. They are like sisters to me, even closer than my mother.

Dariana combed my ginger red long hair and separated it into two halves, a straight lower half and a curled top half held up by a golden pin, while I wore a long purple gown (purple is my favorite color).

"You can both leave," I stated, and they both nodded before walking out of the room.

I sat on my bed, shifting from side to side, when I heard a gentle knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I asked, unwilling to step up to open it.

"It is Javox, my princess," he replied, and I sighed loudly.

"Come in," I grumbled. He opened the door and stepped into the room.

"Good morning, my princess," he welcomed, bowing his head.

"Good morning," I said, glancing at him in anticipation of what he was about to say.

"The Queen wants to talk to you in the dining room, and breakfast is also ready," he continued as I waived my hands for him to leave.

I walked into the dining room, where mom was already seated and drinking from a mug of coffee.

"Good morning, Mother," I said, bending my head, and she nodded in return.

"You are late," she added before leaving the cup of coffee on the dining table.

"I am sorry, mother," I apologized before sitting in a chair facing my mother that was far away from her. The table was large and long, with a soft chair.

"You are the next queen of Devona, and you are not supposed to be late for anything," she stated angrily. I shook my head, not wanting to irritate her.

"You do not nod your head when I talk to you; I do not have to correct myself," she added, banging the table and causing it to rattle.

"I am sorry, Mother," I apologized again, but she did not respond this time; this was not the kind of mother I needed; I wanted one who would care for me, love me, always stand by me, and protect me; she does protect me, but it is because of the Kingdom; she would not want to be childless. My grandmother entered the dining room and sat in a chair next to me.

   "Good morning, grandmother," I said.

"Good morning, mother," said my mother.

She nodded, and we began to eat.
My grandmother is nice and severe, she was the past queen but is no more, my mother took after her, she was considered to be the most powerful witch, but my mother started one when she became queen, she is not old, she is approximately 100 years old but has a youthful appearance, she is still superior to my mother.

"Devina," she said, and my mother turned to face her.

"Have you discussed it with Deva?" she inquired.

"Not yet, Mother," Mom answered. Grandmother nodded.

"I would advise you to tell her now," she says. I am curious what they would like to discuss.

"You are getting married to Prince Marvan, the son of King Ravius of Hellidon," Mother remarked. I was not surprised.

I had been expecting this because King Ravius has been coming to visit. He was a vampire, and getting married to a vampire, I dare not argue with my mother or grandmother.

"Okay, Mother," I responded, biting into the slice of honey bread.

"He is coming next week, which means you will marry him next week." I looked at Grandmother, who gave me a loving smile, and I smiled back, regretfully; my mother never smiled at me, I believe she despises me so much.

   "Mother" I called.

"What do you want, Deva?," she questioned.

  "Devina," my grandmother exclaimed fiercely.

  "Fine, speak up," she replied.

"Why am I getting married to a vampire?" I assumed I would marry a wizard, because vampires do not have offspring." Mother rolled her eyes in frustration as I stated it.

" There is no wizard suitable for you,"  she said.

"They die young," my grandma said. Yes, I am aware of this; my father is deceased, as is my grandfather, for reasons unknown.

"How did King Ravius have his children? As witches, we assist them in casting a spell," stated Grandmother.

"Why do they die young?," I inquired.

"Shut your mouth, Deva, the mother does not answer her question, I believe you need to rest, the maid will bring your food to your room," she said, clapping her hands twice, and my grandma vanished from the dining table.

"You know you do not need to ask that many questions; the next time you ask that kind of question, I promise you will be locked up in your room for a week without food," she added, biting a small piece of honey bread, looking at me for the final time... and then she was gone.

She has done this several times, locking me up in my room without food for two or three days. I always pass out, but grandmother always wakes me up with her powers. There is also something about me; I have never used anything magical, but grandmother told me that I would have my power when I became queen. I stood up from the dining chair and walked out of the room, another boring day in a boring palace.

I entered the room, closed the door, and hopped onto my lovely bed... I close my eyes because I like this bed. It was my sole safe haven.

"Good day, Princess Deva." I leaped out of bed in horror, seeing at the man standing in front of me. He had brown hair, white flaring skin, and golden eyes, and he appeared familiar.

"I am Prince Marvan, the second son of King Ravius of Hellidon," he announced, oh... I smiled at him since he was one of the most attractive men I would ever seen.

"I see you got lost," he said with a smile.

  "Me too," he added.

"How did you get here?," I inquired.

  "Magic!" he exclaimed.

"Vampires do not have magic, just sharp teeth and maybe super fast," I said, and he chuckled. His laugh was charming.

"We have other things," he added.
"Well, your mother helped me, and she is so sweet," he replied. Yes, she is always sweet to people she likes, but she despises me.

"Why do not you show me around the palace?" he asked, stretching his hand. I placed my hands on him, and he kissed my knuckles, making me blush foolishly as we walked out of the room.
