Something strange is going on with Regulus Black.
Teddy had managed to convince herself that his big speech that night on patrol had just been a moment of madness on his part, but he seems absolutely determined to prove her wrong. All of a sudden, it's like she can't shake him off at all. He's more persistent than the bloody kneazle is.
"I'm afraid to even ask what happened between you two." Alice drawls, her eyes darting over the veritable mountain of Honeydukes chocolate on Teddy's bed. Apparently, finding out Teddy's favourite chocolate had only been the beginning, because the sweets have been showing up everywhere over the past couple of days.
"I'm not." Mary says from her own bed, her mouth full of chocolate. "What the fuck, Ted? You said he wasn't serious!"
"He isn't!" Teddy insists. She can't help herself from opening up a bag of Chocoballs and nibbling on one. "I don't know what he's playing at!"
Mary starts to laugh. There's chocolate smeared across her face, but she doesn't seem bothered by it at all. "Oh, Teddy," She grins. "You can be so dense sometimes."
Teddy doesn't even really have time to feel offended at that because the room to their dormitory creaks open in that moment and Granny pads in, fluffy tail waving the air. Attached to his collar is yet another bag of chocolate.
"Oh, for fuck's sake!"
🗡🗡🗡
The first time that Teddy receives a bunch of flowers with the morning post, she feels like shoving the entire bouquet so far up Regulus Black's arsehole that he chokes on the petals.
The mixed bouquet of roses and tulips are certainly pretty, but Teddy is so furious with them that she practically crushes them with her bare hands as she leaps from the Gryffindor table and storms out of the hall.
The stems of the flowers are right on the verge of snapping by the time she makes her way into the Entrance Hall and down a side corridor, but she doesn't have to wait for too long before Regulus comes hurrying out after her, just like she knew he would. He's beginning to get predictable.
As soon as he's close enough, she turns and throws the flowers right at his head. The move must take him by surprise, because other than the initial flinch as they smack into his face he just stands and blinks at her. The flowers fall all around their feet in a brightly coloured mess.
"What the fuck is this!" Teddy hisses, incensed.
Regulus looks genuinely quite surprised and confused, and he raises his hands up to his shoulders in a conciliatory sort of motion as he takes a step towards her. "Flowers..? Is there a problem? I can get you other ones if you don't like these-"
Teddy's breathing is beginning to get heavier as she struggles to stay calm. "How fucking pathetic do you think I am?"
"I don't think that you're-"
