Meanwhile

Sukuna has been giving his vessel more trouble lately. At first he'd just be mouthier than usual, but now he's using his allotted 60 seconds to misplace Yuji's items and mess with his everyday life. You know, petty stuff like hiding his keys and cutting holes in his socks. Yuji has no knowledge of this because of his pact (which he also had no knowledge of, again, because of the pact), and result these occurrences have brought about the new rule that he is not to go near any more of Ryomen Sukuna's fingers. This is to keep them from being consumed and consequently giving more power to the long dormant king of curses.

Even if the are finger lickin' good.

In any case, he still has a mission to complete. The cursed energy emanating from a forest by one of the local highschools is in desperate need of investigation, even if the threat level was only serious enough to send one first year. Gojo himself administered this mission to Yuji, so he was pretty confident that the severity of the situation was ranked appropriately so that he wouldn't have to die a second time.

By the time he arrived at his destination, it was already about 5 in the evening. The area was riddled with curse residuals, you could see it steeped into the grooves on the tree bark and spattered on the fallen leaves from the past autumn. He wandered for awhile beside the path, surveying the area, and keeping an eye out for any students who may be in danger. The rumors about this place were no secret to him or anyone else, and definitely have some basis in reality with all of the varying grades of curses skittering around the place.

Before Yuji had a chance to spot them, Sukuna had already taken it upon himself to use his promised sixty seconds and examine the student napping on the tree 15 feet away. If anyone had doubts about his ill intent, they'd be lying to themselves.

"I'll show him." The tattooed man muttered under his breath, "Just imagine, regaining consciousness and being bathed in the warm, fresh blood of an innocent?" Sukuna had a hard time stifling a laugh.

He smuggly saunters over near the student. Something stops him though. He's sure he'd been spotted, but the student hasn't made a move to do anything about his presence and instead closes their eyes once more. A glint appears in his eyes when he hesitates. Sukuna retreats into the woods, and lingers towards the entrance to the trail that they came in at. He had the most wonderful idea.

Present

The grotesque creature in front you makes you freeze in your tracks. You curse yourself for brushing off those specters for so long, shirking their seriousness, and now you're going to pay with your life. Its teeth gnash at you and you clumsily evade, meaning you stumble backwards onto your ass. You wish you would have stopped to say hi to your friends, and that you weren't so eager to get home. Maybe you'd have less regrets or have avoided the situation entirely.

Reality sets in and you clamber onto your feet to run past the beast, but you're grasped by your legs and dragged towards the creature as it tries to envelope you. The firm grip almost feels acidic and your flesh feels raw. Time slows, and trying to breath is becoming difficult. You're not quite aware of what's happening now but you fall to the ground, and instinctively scramble for your life.

You only end up about 5 feet away.

Lucky for you, some knucklehead is going to town beating on this shark-toothed behemoth, and from what you can tell he's winning. That's probably the reason the monster dropped you, now that you have a minute to catch your breath. Because this knucklehead came to rescue you.

Watching him, however, is a dizzying action. He's small compared to the punches he's throwing, but he's also quite fast. Somebody's been eating his wheaties.

And meth, apparently.

You give him a thumbs up before passing out on the ground.

Brief A/N: this ones a little shorter, but ill be working on the next chapter after this is published. Make sure to vote/leave a comment/add to your reading lists for future updates. Thank you so much for reading
