The sound of an alarm clock bounces against the walls of Verenzio's room, groaning he hits the snooze button and readies for the day. Verenzio is caporegime (member of an Italian mafia family who heads a "crew" of soldiers and has major social status and influence in the organization.)
He meets his brother Vincenzo outside, they both nod, acknowledging each other's presence both knowing what is in store for the day. Vincenzo is the consigliere or legal advisor for the Cassano mafia family.
They get in the car. "Take me to Emilio" Vincenzo says and the driver nods.
As they get closer to the mansion Verenzio noticed the plane spraying over the crops, he silently chuckles and sits back in his seat. They arive at the heavily guarded mansion of Emilio, they present him with an offer from their deceased boss Fabio.
Emilio killed a close friend of their boss so it's more of a threat than a offer. Emilio disrespects both Verenzio and Vincenzo calling them both "arrogant yellows" and says "arigato" in a mocking tone
When Emilio refuses the "offer" they both smile, then Vincenzo says in korean "You will pay for disrespecting my people" then Verenzio continues "You neandathal"
During their conversation the plane has been flying overhead the crop dusting , but rather than pesticides, it's been spraying the grounds with lighter fluid, Emilio notices and asks why they spraying pesticides when they sprayed last week. After the plane flies over Emilio and his guards he smells the liquid that has flown over him and realizes. He panics but it's too late. Vincenzo ignites by tossing his lighter behind him on the way out. The vineyard goes up in flames. Emilio is very angry, he screams at the two , saying he'll get his revenge.
Verenzio smirks getting in the car and driving away with his older brother
"You did well hyung, father would be proud" Verenzio stated to his brother. A small smiles creeps up on Vincenzo's face and he nods accepting the compliment
Vincenzo was a man of more action then words and Verenzio grew to accept that about his brother.
The brothers go straight to Fabio's funeral where they stare at his open casket calling him "father". There's tension between Fabio's biological son Paolo and the two brothers.
Paolo mentions how it wasn't necessary for them to do what they did on the day of his father's funeral. "Fabio said we could use any means necessary to get it done" Vincenzo states and Verenzio nods.
As the new boss Paolo wants his brothers' loyalty which they are happy to give if he deserves it.
[Back at Verenzio and Vincenzo's house] "What if this plan back fires?" Verenzio asks breaking the silence "It won't" Vincenzo says confidently, reassuring his brother
