I was brushing my hair, looking at myself in the mirror. Tanned skin, few freckles evident on my nose because of being under the sun for so long. My hair longer than all the summers before.
Thinking of all the fun I've had during the past weeks, brings a smile to my lips and warms my heart; but the quickest reminder that all of this will be over in less than two weeks and everyone will go back to their homes, and I must get back to my routine, doesn't let the smile last any longer.
Everything has been magical this year, except for our annual reunion which didn't happen as we had planned! And the worst part was that neither of us didn't even know if Tom would show up for our best friend's wedding!
There were four of us, 3 at first, but then I accidentally joined this squad and could never ever leave them. The bond just grew stronger day by day.
Now it's been years each of us lives in a different spot on this wide planet but all the summers so far, we have managed to come back to the very first place we promised to be friends for life, which happens to be where I live and work in.
What makes this year special is Sarah's wedding, so there was literally no way we could wind this 2 months up! The whole reunion thing was like an ancient ritual, this time it was companied by a supernova that we only got the chance to witness it once in our lifetime.
Sarah had sent Tom an invitation, along all the texts, calls, and emails; even though me and Harrison had also contacted him a thousand times to which he almost never responded.
Not to be lying or anything, I have to point out that he did actually call me back once but he never mentioned he'll be here and that sort of made me upset. Considering he hasn't attended any of our reunions in the past years, I do have the right to be upset.
I don't want to say that his acting career and fame are getting the best of him, but they actually are. And I miss the boy I once fell deeply in love with.
That flaming love was always our little secret, sharing those heartfelt moments with each other, dancing to the beat of our hearts all day, staying up every night, our bodies twirling on each other on any place we laid our heads on; nobody ever knew how our pulse throbbed every moment we spent by each other's side.
Anyways, all the resentments aside, I've been waiting for him and whatever happens, I'll keep waiting. Though I would never let my feelings for him hold me back from living the time of my life! Love is a part of my life, all the fun is the other after all.
I put on my earnings, tied my hair back to do my make up. The light natural touches not to look like I had just came back from the longest swimming day.
Apart from the normal, every night fiestas that I arrange for the rich and they don't mind me and my friends attending them since I'm being the party planner I always dreamed of, tonight has a pretty serious occasion and that's Sarah and Sebastian's anniversary.
That's why the party is being held at my own place. Plus, it's the main reason I have high hopes that Tom will somehow not miss tonight.
I put on my black silk dress and white sport shoes, cause I knew I'll be dancing all night, and topped it all with a bold, red lipstick. My signature.
Headed downstairs to check the preparations before our guests arrive one last time.
All the flowers were decorating the white mansion exquisitely, as if we were in the middle of the classical art era of Greece.
I had to make sure everything about tonight is literally flawless. Just like the marble sculptures of greek gods.
Grabbed a glass of rose gold wine from the tray one of the waiters was carrying and stepped into the balcony that was painted golden with the setting light of the sun.
