Tears spilled from our eyes as we clung to each other in Deena's bed. This was our last night together before I moved tomorrow to go stay with my grandma in Oregon. My parents wanted me as from away from this insanity as possible. After Sheriff Nick Goode died, they made the quick desicion that I would be more safe in a sleepy little town.

Deena was moving next week to Texas. They had family there, and her dad was finally stepping up to the plate as a parent. He suddenly woke up from his drunken state and fixed things. Well, things are still mending.

As 'Hey' by the Pixies plays in the background, Deena kisses me for what feels like the final time. We've talked, and maybe this is for the better. We could still see each other when we graduate, but a mutual breakup was right for here and now.

'Hey
Been trying to meet you
Hey, must be a devil between us
Or whores in my head
Whores at the door, whore in my bed
But hey
Where have you
Been?
If you go, I will surely die'

"N/n?" Deena mumbles. I hum in response. "You know how much I fucking love you, right? And how much this fucking sucks?" I giggle. "Deenaaaaa. We've established this. We love each other, and this fucking sucks. There's nothing we can do about it, though."

"What if we ran away together? Don't laugh, I'm serious! Or, I could- I could get a job and we get get our own place and-"

I kiss her to shut her up. "Baby. I wanna be with you too," I sigh.

'We're chained
We're chained
We're chained
We're chained
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained'

"We're chained baby," I say in the chessiest voice I can muster. Deena shoves my shoulder playfully and laughs.

"Yes we are," she replies, crawling on top of me, and staring me down. I stare back into her welcoming eyes, until she leans down to meet our lips. I smile everytime we kiss. I can't help it. I'm a girl in love, what can I say?

'"Uh!"
Said the man to the lady, mm-hm
"Uh!" Said the lady to the man she adored
And the whores like a choir
Go "Uh!" all night
And Mary, ain't you tired of this?
"Uh!"
Is
The
Sound
That the mother makes when the baby breaks'

"Have you ever stopped to think about the lyrics?" Deena asks, genuinely curious. "I guess. To me it's about a couple who no matter who they fuck, they're still connected somehow symbolically."

"What the fuck was that? Did you just give me a book report?"

"Oh shut up!" I push her over.

We're both laughing our asses off until Josh bursts in. "Josh! Ever heard of knocking?" Deena demands.

"I did knock! You two were just too busy making goo-goo eyes and giggling to hear it!"

I laugh and Deena rolls her eyes. "What is it?"

'We're chained
We're chained
We're chained
We're chained
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained (chained)
We're chained'

"Y/n, your parents called. They want you home as soon as possible. Apparently you still haven't packed?" Josh answers as the song comes to an end.

I groan dramatically. I jump up, ruffle Josh's hair, kiss Deena goodbye, and say I'll be back tomorrow morning just before I leave.

The next morning, I drag myself out of bed, fully packed (finally), and help my parents load the car. They're driving me to my destination, Gravity Falls, Oregon. My Grandma Susan owns a diner there, and apparently I'm going to be helping her run it. My parents told me to stay away from her boyfriend Stan. Apparently he's a wack job.

I hurry over to Deena's dreading my leave.

We're sobbing now as I hug my girl for the last time. She leans into me and rests her head into the crook of my neck and whispers something. I cry-laugh harder in response.

"I will always love you. You're a thousand times mine, and I'm a thousand
yours."

Deena smiles sadly, "And I want a thousand more. I love when you say that."

Finals goodbyes are made, and I buckle myself into the backseat. As my parents pull out of the driveway Deena and Josh run after the car waving until we're down the street. I wave back of course, already missing them terribly.

I still miss Simon and Kate daily, but it hurts the worst when I lie awake at night. I have nightmares everytime I fall asleep about Goode and his henchmen, and the deaths I've witnessed. Simon and I were best friends, and I've been friends with Kate since elementary school. I knew those losers well, and it still tears me apart. And now, to top it off, I'm leaving my girl and her annoying, tag-along, amazing little brother. I feel like absolute shit.

As we drive through endless boring trees and fields of green, I listen to my girl's mixtape that we made. I cry when 'Hey' by the Pixies plays because it was our song. It played on our first date, and we've claimed it as ours ever since. Now all I can do is think of her... my girl. No one else's.

Deena ran after the L/n's car as long as she could, waving her girl off to God knows where. 'Fucking Oregon stole my girl.' Figures. Feeling empty, her and Josh wall back inside and go their separate ways.

Deena listens to her mixtape that Y/n and her made. The first song is 'Hey' by the Pixies. Of-fucking-course. 'The universe just wants me to bawl my eyes out, huh? Well, I'll give it what it wants. You win, universe. I miss Y/n. Fuck.'

Deena stays in her room for the rest of the day, listening to 'Hey' sobbing, and feeling completely and utterly alone.
