A/N: If E or Sap is reading this, I didn't feel like editing it so can yall do that for me LMAO.
I quickly ran down the hall dreading what was about to happen next.
I was late.
Time had caught up to me when I was rushing to put concealer on all the bruises Jessica and her crew left. God, this sucked. I was currently 10 minutes late to my strictest class of the day. As quietly as I could, I slowly opened the door to my first period class: Math. God did I hate Math.
And right as I was about to close the door, someone called out, "Hey, Teacher, look she's late! You not going to do anything?"
Fuck.
I turned around to face who had just called me out. And of course it was Lucas goddamn Knox. If you thought Jessica was bad, this kid was a living hell. Star captain of the football team, pretty boy that every single girl wished they could have fucked, and my lifelong bully. I had grown up with Lucas constantly shoving me around and putting gum in my hair. Cliche things. Cliche but annoying. So goddamn annoying.
"Well, Ms. L/N, glad you could finally joined us ten minutes late, hm? What could you have possibly been doing for ten minutes? Avoiding my class perhaps?" Mrs. Maia spat, glaring at me.
"I wouldn't be here if I was trying to avoid your class. And trust me, I've definitely thought about it," I thought to myself bitterly.
"I wasn't trying to avoid your class, Ma'am. I just got lost trying to find your class," Y/N explained as nicely as she could.
"Go sit down, Ms. L/N, and see me after class."
Well that was the end of that. God, can life get any worse? I attempted to look around the class for an open seat. Shit. The only open seat, of course, just had to be right next to Lucas. I sighed to myself as I headed over. He was already smirking at me like he knew this was going to happen.
I went to sit down, but inevitably fell down with a yelp. The class erupted into laughter. Lucas had pulled my chair out from underneath me. "What the hell was that for?" I whispered yelled at him. He only grinned at me.
"I have no clue what you're talking about, princess."
What a dick.
I stood up and brushed off my skirt. "You are so annoying." I shot back as I sat down my chair.
Well, that was the end of that conversation until thirty minutes into Mrs. Maia talking about god knows what I heard a whisper out of the corner of my ear.
"Hey, Y/N."
I'm not falling for this, Lucas.
"Y/N, psst. I know you can hear me~" He chimed out still keeping his voice low.
I quickly rolled my eyes and turned to face him, "Can you shut up? Unlike somebody I know, I actually care about getting good grades."
"Ouch," I could practically hear the smile, "What's got you all riled up, love?"
"Will you stop with all the nicknames? They aren't funny," I spat, turning back to the teacher. At this point I was almost at my limit with this kid.
"Chill out, dude. I call every girl that you aren't special."
I glared at him, "That's not what I meant. You know-"
"Ahem, Mr. Knox and Ms. L/N, would you care to share to the class what you were talking about?" Mrs. Maia was eyeing them angrily waiting for a response.
"Well-"
"Sorry, Mrs. Maia, I was asking Y/N here for a pencil, right?" Lucas looked over at me waiting for some form of confirmation.
"Uhm, y-yes. That's exactly it." I said not breaking eye contact with the teacher.
His smile faltered for a fraction of a second before looking back over at the teacher who sighed to herself, "Don't let it happen again." Was all the said before turning back to the board.
~Timeskip to the end of the class~
I quickly packed up my bags as everyone else around me filed out the door. Lucas didn't try to talk to me anymore after that. I guess I successfully got him to shut up. I stood up and quietly made my way to the teacher's desk, already accepting my fate.
Mrs. Maia was shuffling some papers at her desk and didn't bother to glance up at me when she spoke, "Mrs. Y/N, I'm not trying to dig into your personal life, seeing as it's not really my place. However, is your home life okay?"
I almost let out a gasp of surprise. Almost. "Uhm, no ma'am, I am fine at home."
Mrs. Maia eyed me for a minute, "Well, you're free to go, but know that you can talk to me if you ever need to."
I muttered a quick thank you, still reeling in what I was just told. I didn't even notice I was being yelled at before someone roughly shoved me to the ground.
"Fucking look at me when I'm talking to you, goddamn bitch."
I sighed to myself. Lucas. I knew he didn't change one bit.
"You almost got me another fucking detention. You need to fix your goddamn lying skills. And while your at it, sit next to me in class again and you're dead." He landed on more kick to my stomach and stomped off.
I hate this fucking town.
