Chapter 5 ~ The Ball

-Y/n's pov-
I look to see where the voice came from. I turn to see an old man.

"Hello! Are you here for the ball?" He asks.

"I am..." I reply.

"Splendid! Please follow me." He says happily.

I contemplate not going, as I don't know who this is.  I decide to go anyway, what's the worst that could happen? Right?

He leads me to a big room with very nice decor.

"You can stay here until the ball." He says.

"Thank you sir." I respond happily.

The room is exactly what you'd expect to see in royal castle. White curtains hung over the large windows. Incredible white and gold bedding on the big bed. A closet big enough to hold at least two horses.

It was almost too fancy for my liking. I grabbed my clothes and my dress and hung the up in the closet. It was about 5:30 pm. I was hungry, so I left the castle. I walked to the town, it's was quite a bit larger than what I'm used to.

I grabbed something to eat then headed back to the castle. It was about 8pm. I showered and went to bed.

-the next morning-

I woke up to the smell of something wonderful. Looking around I saw (food choice) sitting on the desk. It looked amazing, I got up and ate it. It was delicious.

I was getting dressed when I remembered, the ball is today! Oh my goodness! How could I forget? It wasn't until later today so I don't have to worry about getting ready for a while.

While wondering what to do today, I heard a knock. I opened the door and saw the guy who brought me to the room.

"Hello." He said bluntly.

"Hi." I responded with the same tone.

"How are you doing here? Do you need anything?" He questioned.

"No, I'm great, thank you though!" I replied

"Okay I'll leave you alone." He said and walked away.

I decided to go down and explore the castle. I walked around looking at everything. Then I came across a library. I walked in and saw all kinds of books. I grabbed one that interested me and found a place to sit.

I read the whole book then put it back and went outside. I found a small garden and went to admire it. I heard rustling in a bush and looked to see what it was. There I saw a small bunny that looked to be stuck.

I managed to get it out and let it go. (a/n: Elsa arc) I got some food then went up to my room to get ready for the ball. Once I got to my room I put on my dress and then did my makeup and hair.

By the time I was done it was 4:48pm, the ball starts at 5. I started heading down to the area where the ball would be. I walked in and everyone was wearing beautiful dresses and fancy suits.

When the ball started I went to go and get food. While I was getting food someone tapped my shoulder.

"Excuse me, can I get some of that?" She said.

"Oh I'm sorry." I said and moved out of the way.

After that I ate and stood off to the side. Until someone walked up to me.

"Hello!" He said enthusiastically.

"Hi!" I said with the same energy.

"You looked lonely so I came to see if you'd like some company." He said.

"Oh, sure!" I replied.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Y/n, Y/n King." I said a bit quieter than I intended. "What's yours?"

"Technoblade." He replied nonchalantly.

Panic.

Like fangirl panic.

Technoblade?

Like the prince?

"Care to dance?" He asked holding out his hand.

"Sure." I said grabbing his hand.

We danced for a bit until the king walked in. Everyone bowed. He thanked everyone for coming. You know the usually party stuff. Then dismissed everyone to go back to what they were doing.

Techno and I danced and talked for a while. Then the ball ended.

"Oh..." I said sadly, I didn't want this to end. I was having fun.

"Will I see you around?" Techno asked.

"I'm not sure." I said.

"We'll I hope I do." He said happily. He kissed my hand and left.

Wow. That was amazing. He's a great person. Maybe I feel something more? No, no, no. You just met him. How could you feel something more about someone you met that day. Stupid.

And with that I went to my room, hung up my dress, removed my makeup, and went to bed.
