This is a novel about being a teenager in a world filled of faults, corruption, violence, and overall reality. Yes, life through the years can also be incredibly beautiful; though that depends on the life choices we make, the people we let in it, and the in-take we have on living itself. Yet no matter how it's looked upon, life isn't all sugary sweet, it isn't just sunshine and rainbows, or  happiness... it's bitter, cruel, sad, and overall painful.

Adolescence is a time of change, as we all know. Changes that can be so dramatic that it leaves parents wondering if what they are seeing is just typical teen behavior or a cause for concern.

A typical teen behavior can include many things that seem strange to parents. Dyed hair, odd piercings, strange music, and even new friends, all of it just being part of the growing process.

Some use this period of time to experiment with alcohol, drugs, and sometimes sex. All things that terrify parents to no end, but why? Don't they realize they once were one of us?.

Someone who just wanted to be young, wild, and free; oh, but how life changes through the years it will always remain a mystery to you and me.

So hormonal changes in a teenagers body can be expressed as the cause of such moodiness. Not only that, but a teen's brain is still developing in this point of their lives; so some parts of the brain that house logical thinking and memory are not fully formed and can lead to lapses of judgement and sometimes risky behavior.

An excuse really as to why we
end up fucking up so much in these years.

Additionally, a desire for independence and becoming one's own person can lead teenagers to distance themselves from their families and loved ones. A decision that can either make everything better or completely fuck things up.

Being a teenager comes with it's ups and downs, that is something blankly obvious, just like many things in life...

Yet it's here when they can be left on their own. Usually  full of hope and optimism, they begin envisioning future possibilities, passions, positive relationships, and are to young to be jaded, a powerful resilience for when things get tough.

They're creative, although it may not always be directed to what we'd like it to be. They also start having a more sophisticated sense of humour, become physically capable of doing things on their own. And begin taking risks, now able to look out for others, and grasping the concept of love.

Friendships become more of an intense concept, and they are just experiencing many things for the first time in their lives.

Yet teens tend to have a lot on their minds. From anxiety and depression, to bullying, to drug and alcohol use (and abuse), trauma, teen pregnancies, and many other major problems amongst people their age.

Something that isn't really cared for, yet so stupidly real and sad. It's here, within these problems that one's life can change so drastically and go down hill, as if everything else that had happened in their life that led them to that specific point never mattered.

A teen's mind can be something so powerful yet something so fragile; one life choice, one wrong path, and it can change completely.

Every  single human being goes threw this specific era in life, each experiencing something so different from the other, some living a better life than the former; but it is here when we build ourselves, when we starting becoming a being of society, someone who will change life no matter how small it may seem.

A/n: before I go in to my actual explanation, I would like to recommend that the story is read in dark mode.

With that said, I want to explain as to why in this introduction I talk about teenagers and what it is being a teen in the modern world.  I did this because, 1) the book is  about teenagers, it describes what they go through and it shows their prospective upon certain situations; 2) I want you guys to take full account of the fact that the characters are teenagers, they are certainly not perfect, so that's why I would like if you guys tried to comprehend and understand such characters before being quick to judge and lastly because I want you guys to remember that being a teen can be something so exciting yet shit at the same time, you get were I'm going at?.
