Chapter two

I went upstairs knowing my mom wouldn't say a thing about me liking Pope to anyone. I took a nap and had dinner with my aunt, my uncle and brother were on a golfing trip somewhere.

"Hey don't you have plans at 7:00 pm" my aunt says trying to break out of the conversation of me talking about Pope.

"Oh shoot yeah." I say looking over at the clock and figuring out it's 6:45pm.

I grab my bag I take when I'm going out and leave my house.

"Bye aunt love you!" I say in a rush.

I finally get to the beach and say.

"Sorry I'm late I was having dinner with my aunt."

"It's alright." John b says.

"Hey can we talk to you!" kiara says.

"Sure!" I say excited for what's gonna happen.

They pull me aside to the other side of the beach.

"Ok so basically Pope likes you and is gonna ask you to the dance." Sarah blurts out.

"And we know you like him too so don't even deny it. It is obvious the way you look at him. I think sometimes you forget we have boyfriends too." Kiara says.

"Well I kind of do like him but I don't know. I've only told my mom about him" i say rolling my eyes.

We go back and see that the boys are gone. We don't think much about it so we just go swimming. We swim for like ten minutes till we find out it's odd of them to be gone for this long. We go to the sandy part of the beach and kiara gets a text from JJ.

"Hey JJ just texted me to come to the boardwalk and have you come in about five minutes." Kiara said

"Okay!" I say.

I set a five minute timer on my phone. This was the longest five minutes ever I didn't think much of it and watched tiktok. My alarm went off and I went to the boardwalk I knew that they were up to something. As soon as I can see close enough to the boardwalk I see Pope,JJ and John b in suits. And then kiara and Sarah in rose gold dresses Pope stood in the middle and the girls were on one side and the boys were on the other. I put my hands over my mouth in shock. How did they get dressed so fast? They were all holding roses.

"Oh my goodness what is this for?" I said.

I walked down to Pope and he said.

"So y/n I've noticed you don't have anyone to go to the dance with."

There was a slight pause and that was the pause that got everything in my head to get out and enjoy the moment. I realized I was smiling and blushing at the same time. I noticed he was pulling something out of his pocket. Was it really a jewelry box?

"Will you go to the dance on Saturday with me?" Pope said while opening the box.

In the box there was a necklace,3 rings and 3 bracelets. I could tell he was trying to be fearless but the look in his eyes were nervous.

"Yes! Of course!" I said.

I jumped up to into his arms.Everyone was clapping. I went back and hugged kiara and Sarah out of pure happiness. They were both so excited for me. I was pretty happy about this because I was always the one that lived the closest to Pope. And the same goes with all the other couples.

"Okay I'm sorry to break the moment but it's pretty late. Pope you walk y/n home, John b you walk Sarah home and I will walk wonderful kiara home. See how now we can do that." JJ said.

While we were walking home it was awkward.

"So tomorrow after school wanna hang out with the others?" Pope said.

"Is that even a question of course I do!" I say.

"Great! Oh yeah and by the way you never grabbed the jewelry box." Pope says while pulling the box out of his pocket.

"This is really beautiful jewelry. How were you able to pull it off that fast. You all look like it took hours to get dressed. I will have to say that was one of the best asking someone out I've ever seen." I say.

"Yeah it was pretty hard but I already had the jewelry picked out and I knew your ring size and all of that way before any of this." Pope says trying to act like it wasn't a hassle.

We finally reach my house and I'm kind of sad this night is over but I know I'm gonna tell my aunt everything.

"Okay bye thank you for the amazing night!" I say to Pope.

"Bye, no problem!" Pope says back.

I come in the house with the flowers and the jewelry box, I knew my mom was gonna ask who it's from.

"Hey honey! What's that box your holding. And the roses! Is that from let me guess Pope?" My aunt says excited.

"Yeah he asked me to the dance on Saturday. It was a lot to handle because it was like he was preforming a prepose!" I say getting very excited telling my aunt about it.

"I think that is great honey! Now it is pretty late and you have school tomorrow. Take a shower, put on your pyjamas and go to bed!" My aunt says.

I take a shower and try to go to bed but Pope was on my mind i dot know what it was about him or why i liked him so much. I finally fell asleep after about an hour of thinking.
