The Smeralda trip turned out to be somewhat of a bust. It started great but then it got worse, especially with the outburst that occurred between Piper and me. I felt bad for having called her what I called her and realized that at the end of the day, maybe I was part of the problem because in some way I still held it against her for giving me up to my dad.

But it was not her fault and I knew it was my duty to apologize to her. I only hoped she forgave me because all our lives, we've never had an argument of that magnitude.

Arriving at her apartment, Melanie opened the door.

"Hey" she said, running a nervous hand through her hair.

"Hey" I awkwardly said. "Is Piper home?"

"Yeah, she's in the kitchen."

She let me in and I saw Piper drinking what looked like coffee.

"Hey" she said, again, feeling the awkwardness.

"Can we talk?"

"Sure" she sighed.

Melanie went to the living room and proceeded with what I had to say.

"I'm sorry for calling you a bitch. I never should have called you that, especially you."

"Thanks for the apology but I'll admit I probably had it coming. I should not have acted how I acted or said what I said."

"Either way, you were the last person in the world to have who deserved to have been called what I called you. We've always had a good and united relationship and the last thing I want is for anything to stand in the way of that."

"I appreciate and accept your apology" she chuckled. "Why don't we forget what happened and have lunch."

"Sounds good. I ain't got plans" I chuckled.

"Then let's get going" she smiled and we both embraced with a hug.

Walking over to the living room, Piper looked almost ecstatic that we were both chatting like normal people.

"I see you both made-up and are back to being well...you?" asked Piper.

"Yes, we've settled our differences and now we're back to being us" I smiled.

"Yep, we're back" Piper wrapped her arm over my neck.

"So I'm assuming we're getting lunch?" asked Piper.

"Yeah. There's a Mexican restaurant not far off from here that I want to check out" I said.

"Then let's go" Melanie got up.

The three of us stepped out and once we were in the lobby, our chit-chatting was cut short when my bodyguard Khaled decided to show up.

"Hello" he said. "I see you managed to outpace me, again."

"I don't need or want a bodyguard following me around. I want my independence as I've stated."

"I thought you were finally okay with me guarding you?"

"I was, but I changed my mind. It's too life intrusive and you get the point."

"We'll have a chat about that later" he said. "But for now you are wanted at Zabeel Palace where your father and grandparents are expecting you."
