after the storm

pulling down your hood after the storm,
i see your shining face.
a rainbow reflects within your beautiful eyes
while we jump through puddles of tears,
the ones you get from relief.
can you hear the calls of blue jays?
fluttering their way to find a love
just as i had found mine.
ready for the flowers to bloom
to give to you every May,
a promise i shall keep evermore.
tell me how you feel so loved again,
true communication and compassion,
stealing words straight from my pretty lips
only to return too soon.
within my heart, soul, and body,
i'm told that i'm complete;
my story has yet to begin.
