Savannah's POV
Walking through the gates, it felt weird to be out here again. I walked behind my father and Aaron. We were out recruiting.
"Savannah, you stay close to me, okay?" Said Daryl.
I sighed.
"Okay."
Then, when we were just a few feet into the woods, we heard a noise.
It was a herd of walkers.
"Savannah, get down now!" Whispered Daryl.
I did as I was told, and dropped to the ground.
Then a thought struck me.
"We need to warn the others! They're sitting prey!"
"Oh shit. Aaron, you stay here, I'll see if I can get back over the wall."
"Dad..."
"I'll be okay. I promise."
Daryl's POV
I ran back around and managed to climb up one of the poles unseen. I jumped down and ran for Rick's house.
"Rick, you in there?!" I shouted.
"Daryl? What's up?"
"There's a herd, outside. Savannah and Aaron are still out there."
"Oh god."
"I need to go back and get them. Tell Carol for me?"
"Okay. Be careful, and hurry."
Carol's POV
Rick came round and told me that my daughter and Daryl were out amongst a herd of flesh eating monsters, and then told me to stay calm.
"Rick, I'm going out there. And don't try an stop me."
"Carol, Daryl will get them back."
"If that was Carl out there, I know you would be there too. So let me go."
He looked at me, and moved to the side.
Mikey's POV
Me and Carl heard Rick and Carol talking.
"Carl, Savannah is out with them. I need to help."
"Okay. Follow me."
Carl led me to a weak spot in the fence and we clambered over.
"Savannah?" I called quietly.
We turned a corner and slammed straight into the herd.
"Mikey, run!" Screamed Carl, firing his gun.
We ran together, and found Daryl, Carol, Savannah and Aaron.
I grabbed Savannah and held her in my arms. Then it dawned on me.
"Run! They're coming!"
We ran, but they were now coming from all directions and we were trapped.
"Everyone, behind me!" Shouted Daryl.
As the walkers gained on us, I knew what I had to do.
"Savannah, I can save you." I whispered into her hair.
"What are you talking about?" The fear in her voice made my choice for me.
"I have to do this, okay? And it has to be now."
She realised what I was going to do.
"Mikey...no." She began to cry.
"I love you. Thank you for everything." I smiled.
Then I stepped out of our huddle.
"Everyone, run!" I said.
"Mikey, no, stop!" Daryl screamed, whilst Savannah was being restrained from coming to me by Carl.
I looked Carl in the eyes. He nodded at me and I smiled.
"I'm sorry. Now go!" I said.
Then I stepped back into the walkers. They began to rip me apart.
As I started to bleed out, I saw the others dragging Savannah away.
She was screaming, but I smiled.
"I love you..." I said, as I shut my eyes for the final time.
