Chapter 2

Denki couldn't believe what he'd just heard. Zeus, THE Greek asshole God was his father?!? No way, it had to be a joke.

"Mom you're kidding" He said laughing nervously.
His mom looked at him dead serious with a hint of worry in her eyes.

"I'm not."
Denki fell back against the seat, his brain trying to process this new information.

He always knew his dad was an asshole and he felt disgusted with himself sometimes to be the spawn of the man. But this? This was a whole new level. He had always hated Zeus ever since he'd learnt about the guy.
Perhaps it was because he reminded him of his dad but to think that The Zeus is his dad? He felt so confused and wanted to scream that no! This wasn't true , but deep down he knew it was the truth. He didn't know how he knew but he knew that his mom was definitely not lying and that his dad was ,in fact,  the Greek god Zeus. He sighed, knowing he had to accept this as a fact.

"So, where are we going right now?"

"It- it's a place called camp half blood" Kirishima spoke up.

Denki blinked having forgotten Kiri and Sero were with them too with all the chaos going on and how quiet they were.

"Half-blood..?"

"Yeah, it's a safe place demigods go to to train so they can fight against monsters." Sero replied.

A safe-place for demigods huh...,Denki thought.

Wait a second, Denki realised, if Sero and Kiri know about it then that means....

He turned around to look at the two of them who were sitting in the back row.
"Does that mean you guys are demigods too?!?" He exclaimed in disbelief.

Sero and Kiri shared an awkward look and nodded.

"One of us is, yes."

Denki just sighed and shook his head. With all the revelations that happened today, he couldn't even bring himself to be that surprised at this reveal.

"So who are your parents? Poseidon? The sea guy? Apollo?" He asked.

Kiri answered first." Nope, neither of them. My mom's Demeter. Sero is actually a satyr."

Denki tried recalling who Demeter was and what a satyr was. Surprisingly enough, it clicked immediately.

"Demeter as in the goddess of grain and satyr as in half-goat, half-human?" He inquired while also being shocked at how he knew even though he was sure he never paid enough attention in class to actually have remembered them since they weren't as popular as the big three and others.

"Yup, that's exactly it." Sero replied.

Come to think of it, Sero had always had a bit of a limping problem. He usually chose to sit out of sports even though he could run very well. Denki had never really questioned it since he didn't think it was important. Denki had also seen Kiri spend a lot of time near plants and trees. When he had asked him about it, he had said that he was really fascinated with nature and plants, and Denki had left it at that. To think that some of those weird antics of his best friends were due to their parents and what they were was .... mind-blowing to say the least.

Suddenly, Kiri screamed to look out.

The car swirled right and narrowly missed crashing into the woods. Denki spun around in his seat to see what had caused it and couldn't believe his eyes, then again there were a lot of things he couldn't believe that happened today...

There , right behind the car was a giant crab that was the size of a huge truck. It's piercers were larger than the car itself. Denki had no clue how they managed to avoid it considering its huge size. It had foam forming at its mouth which ,to say the least , looked disgusting. Its black eyes were huge and were death glaring at them. Fear settled in as he looked upon the giant beast starting to approach. Kiri and Sero seemed to be panicking as well and the car was going at 100km per hour at this point.
"WHY IS THERE A GIANT CRAB OVER THERE AND WHY IS IT SO HUGE?!?" Denki screeched at the top of his lungs.

"U-UM I THINK ITS C-CARCINUS" Kiri answered back.

The gigantic crab started moving towards them faster as if it had heard it name.

"WHAT THE HELL IS A CARCINUS?!? AND WHY ARE YOU GUYS JUST SITTING THERE SHOULDN'T YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?!"

"ITS THE CRAB THAT HERA SENT IN ORDER TO DISTRACT HERACLES SO THE HYDRA COULD KILL HIM"

"WHY DID SHE- You know what not important right now! What do we do about it?!"

"Sero can trap it using the trees around us and I could go attack it with my sword!" Kiri exclaimed, pulling out a small plastic scale which he flipped, turning it into a sword.

"WOAH- HOW DID YOU-"
"Not important I'll tell you later-"

Sero and Kiri nodded at each other.
Sero pulled out his flute and started playing it which caused the surrounding plants and trees to trap the crab behind them. More vines started to curl around it to make sure it wouldn't escape.

"Kiri! Go now!" Kirishima hopped out of the car holding his sword at the ready but the creature suddenly started to move and thrash around getting free of some of the vines.

"Oh crap"

The monster came completely free of the trap and started heading towards Kiri at a high speed . Kiri jumped out of the way just in time to avoid one of its piercers. Denki started thinking hard on what he could do to help. He what he did to defeat the manticore. " That's it!"
He quickly got out of the car as his mom screamed at him to wait. He ignored it and started concentrating hard on the monster.

Zeus if you really are my dad help me out on this one .

He really hoped this would work. The clouds started going dark and lightning began to crackle in them.

Denki yelled, "KIRISHIMA GET BACK"
Kiri looked back and hurriedly backed away from the creature.

A bolt of thunder hit the ground where the creature stood. They were far away enough to avoid getting hit but it blinded them temporarily.

As the white light faded away, Denki saw that there was no sign of creature left but the golden powder around where it stood previously.Denki breathed out a sigh of relief as he felt himself passing out again, glad that they were safe from the monster.
