Nicky×Rod One Shots (Avenue Q Characters)

Running Away (Part 2)

Author's Note: I relized that I never finished this! And I'm working on another animatic, but with school starting, I'll be busy and may not write or make any animatics for a few months. But it's been a lot of fun making these.

"How was Nicky able to live like this," Rod thought. He was sleeping near a dumpster in a dark alley. He had no idea where he was. He had about 100 missed calls from Nicky but didn't bother to call back.

"What's the point?" Rod thought. "I'll just keep getting in the way of his life. He doesn't need me and I don't need him."

Meanwhile, back at Avenue Q, Nicky was going around town, asking strangers if they had seen Rod. He was exhausted and hungry. He couldn't sleep or eat. He was too worried about Rod.

One day, he left town to go find him and he went into a dark alley. "Rod?" He gasped as he saw Rod asleep and beaten up next to the trash cans. "ROD!!! ARE YOU OKAY?!!!" Nicky screamed, waking up Rod. "Huh?! NICKY?!!!" "ROD!!! WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN DOING HERE?!!!" Nicky screamed. "Nicky... you need to go back home where it's safe! For me, I'm not safe anywhere anymore. I just got mugged yesterday." Nicky began crying. "Rod! What's going on?" Rod explained everything  that had happened to him.

"ROD!!! Why would you let yourself live like this when you know that I'm here for you! You need to tell me this stuff! I'm calling the police on that guy!" "NO!!! This is why I didn't want to tell you! It'll be embarrassing and I'll probably have a bad name at work!" Nicky shakes his head and says, "Rod! Who cares? I'm not going to let you be homeless! And I'm not going to let you think that no one needs you, because I need you!"

The words hit differently to Rod. Then Nicky hugs him. "Please Rod... at least just come home." Rod tears up as well. "I... I will".
