Wednesday 9am

Another good nights sleep, however I woke up on completely the wrong side of the bed today. I was moody as hell.

I woke up to the sound of the door being shut and footsteps coming down the stairs. I just stayed still and kept my eyes closed.

"Isabelle?" I heard a whisper calling me. I just groaned and rolled over so I was facing away from the sound. "Alright Isabelle, I'm gonna keep your breakfast down on the floor here, ok?"

I didn't respond, but I heard the tray being placed on the floor next to me. He then walked back up, and shut and locked the door behind him.

I rolled over and sat up slightly to see what I had been given - porridge and a banana, again. I just lightly pushed the tray away, I wasn't in the mood to eat. To do anything for that matter.

It was Wednesday, and that meant Nathan was returning home today. The thought of him walking in to find out that I wasn't there and that there was a note left for him made me sick. Not only was I missing Nathan but I was also bored shitless. I couldn't take it any longer, I had to get out of here.

Yes, he was treating me really nicely now. He was letting me eat, sleep and use the bathroom freely, and I respected that, but I still had at the back of my mind that he had taken me and was holding me for ransom. What had Nathan and I done to this guy? Nothing. I didn't even know the guy's name and he wants 1 million dollars off of us!

I just felt so sorry for Nathan, he's the one that's in the most difficult position out of both of us. Yeah, I was the one that had to put up with the guy and whatever, but Nathan's the one that has to either find a way out of this and get me back without paying a thing, or he just gives in. Either way, it was going to mess with his head and I hated that.

About an hour and a half later, I heard him come back downstairs. I heard steps walking over to me and then stop.

"Aren't you going to eat anything?" He asked.

"I'm not hungry" I replied, still lying down facing away from him.

I heard him sigh, "fine, I'll leave it there just in case you're hungry later" I didn't respond. Seconds later, I felt him unlock the chain around my ankle, "ok, well if you're not gonna eat, please use the bathroom, take a nice long shower if you want."

"Thanks" I replied bluntly.

"I'm gonna make a coffee, do you want one? Or tea?"

"No thank you" I said, bluntly again.

"Ok" he said and headed upstairs.

When he had reached the top, I heard him open the basement door and shut it. However, I never heard him lock it.

I sat up and looked over. Did I miss him lock it? Or have I gone deaf? Or has he in fact just not locked it at all? Whatever had happened, I needed to check. This could be my one and only chance.

I got up from my bed and walked over to the stairs. As I was slowly and quietly walking up them, I starting to get nervous and thinking how bad this could turn out, should I just back out now?

"No Isabelle!" I thought to myself and carried on up the stairs. Once I'd reached the top, I took a big deep breath. I was going to open the door and run straight for the front door, and then just run. Keep running until I found somewhere where I could phone the police or something. After all, I had no idea where I was and how far I was from home.

After taking a deep breath, I reached out and grabbed the handle. Being as quiet as I could, I twisted it. It was unlocked!

I slowly opened the door and peeked outside, there was no one there. I could hear him in the kitchen, which was down the corridor and to the left, but where I wanted to go was to the front door. Luckily, this was the opposite direction and practically right near me. I took another deep breathe, and then ran.
