It wasn't him..?

The truth

Neji and I sat down on my bed.

"So... what is it you seem to want to tell me?" He asked, "By any chance, is it something to do with the Uchiha boy?" He smirked at me.

"Just.. just keep your voice down, okay? And yeah, it sort of is about the 'Uchiha boy'," I whispered. Neji frowed at me with confusion. "Look, I'll tell you everything, just please don't tell anyone! Especially father!"

"Okay... promise!" He held out his little finger, and we made a pinky-promise like a pair of children.

"So..." I started, "I went to Sasuke's house. We were supposed to sort things out between us, you know, so it would be like nothing happened? But instead... other things happened..." I thought about what had happened, and I began to blush wildly.

"Other things..." Neji repeated with suspicion. A look of horror and disgust crossed his face. "You don't mean you-!"

"No, no!" I gasped, "Nothing like that! Let me finish Neji, jeez!" Always jumping to conclusions! I thought, shaking my head.

"As I was saying, other things happened. Instead of forgetting everything we... we..." I paused for a moment. "E-ended up k-k-kissing each other and... Neji I dunno if you'll belive me, but... we... Sasuke and I... are a c-couple. We have feelings for one another." I finished.

Neji bit his lip and looked down for a moment. "You have feelings for Sasuke? But... you've been in love with Naruto since we were children!" He looked at me with a serious expression on his face. "Well, as long as you're happy, I suppose. That's a pretty quick change of heart though, Hinata."

I sighed and shrugged my shoulders. "I thought that too. I mean... Yeah, I do- well, did have a huge crush on Naruto but there's just something about Sasuke that I like. We're together now- a couple. But I am happy, don't worry about me!" I said, laughing as I tapped his head playfully.

Neji smiled when he realised I was being serious. "Good! As long as you don't get hurt it should all be fine!" He tapped me back, and added, "I won't tell your father. You have my word."

"Thankyou, Neji." I whispered.

"Come on! He said, "Let's go out. We'll do some training or something?" He grinned at me.

"I hope by 'training' you mean 'getting a bite to eat!' I'm starving!" I replied, rubbing my stomach. I hadn't eaten since I went to Sasuke's, and that was a while ago! We both laughed and set off downstairs.

"Ichiraku ramen?" Neji shot at me.

"Sure thing! Let's go!"

We exited the house into the semi-darkness, and began walking towards Ichiraku ramen. Today had turned out better than I expected!
