Tommy was making his normal rounds around town. It was actually very deceptive how the movies and stories showed vigilante work. They depicted the job as high speed and action packed taking out drug deals every five minutes, but no its pretty boring. Yeah there was some action, but thats a once every other day or so. He only took care of the little crime snice that was crime that went rampant, since the heros only focused on big crime. small crimes didn't pay the bills.
The way heros made money was: the bigger the crime you stopped, the more you were paid, the smaller the crime you stopped, the less your were paid. This system of payment caused lots of corruption, it was meant for newer heros it take on easier less dangerous jobs and not get over paid but no new hero wants to take care of stuff like drug deals or small accounts of shop lifting and so it was left to go wild. Sure it didn't effect most people but it was crime it had to be stopped.
Tommy walked down the road with his hood up to and his mask on his raccoon tail swaying behind him as he walked. He was wearing a red mask that cover his mouth and nose his hoodie was white and red the sleeves, hood, and pocket were red and the main body of the hoodie was white. He loved his hoodie he had it for a long time it was slightly getting old and had a few patches in it but it was amazing. He also had on some ratty old plain blue jeans, a ratty old pair of shoes, and plain black backpack though they may be old and worn down they served him well.
And then he saw it, a mugging across the street in an ally. It was late so there was no traffic but still he looked both ways then crossed. He snuck toward the ally and peired around the corner. The mugger was using a knife so it was a bit safer for tommy. Tommy took a bat out of his backpack. He decided the best course of action would be a medium blow to the head. He snuck up behind the mugger staying low to the ground. Once he was behind the mugger tommy practically stopped breathing he started to stand up readied the bat then.
Swing. Crack. Thud.
The mugger was now on the ground groaning. The mugger wasn't knocked out of course which is what Tommy wanted. The mugger was trying to get up but Tommy got on top of him, and got some rope he had in his pocket and tied the mugger up so the mugger couldn't get up or move to much.
"HEY YOU CRAZY WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?" The mugger asked with a shout. he didn't sound very happy.
"Shut the fuck you you stupid worgen" Tommy told the mugger off the mugger started yelling at him again, but he turned to the victim.
"H-hey thanks man" The victim stammered "Uh could I get you anything to thank you for this?"
"Hey you deserve to be able to be safe you don't have to do anything" Tommy reassured him.
"No no. have, uh how about I give you a $20 thats all I can afford to give" He said picking up the wallet that was on the floor, it must have been dropped when tommy attacked the mugger. He pulled out a 20 dollar bill and handed it to tommy.
"Hey thanks man you didn't have to but it feels nice to be rewarded for my service" Tommy thanked him. He took the bill then shook his hand. Though he felt bad to take his money, he needed it a lot more than he probably did, and he was greatful for his generosity.
The man who was the victim of a attempted mugging left and now Tommy was left with the mugger still yelling, he was annoying and loud.
"Oh my god man, shut up I literally don't care" Tommy snapped at the mugger. Tommy was worn out by him. He turned to look at the mugger, but he went silent, the mugger was looking at something. Something behind Tommy. He tuned to look at what he was looking at to find the second best hero in the world.
Tommy didn't like the hero system at all but he had to admit the really good ones were the coolest and the second best was almost enough to make his heart stop. The second best hero of all time, Phantom. His special ability was something similar to a ghost, hence the name, he could phase though walls and he could also turn invisible for a short time span.
