brysen

"Brysen, you are a failure. I am no longer proud to be your mother, I have not failed as a mother but you have failed as my kid." She sighed.

"Why can't you be more like your brother and sister, Bryan is graduating from law school in a week and Brianna is finishing up medical school in a year, why couldn't you just be another one of my perfect children and become a marine biologist. I would've been the happiest mama in the world," I thought I almost saw her smile but that quickly went away when she looked at me in disgust.

"But little miss Brysen just had to ruin that moment, when she got a fucked up stoner as a boyfriend and dropped out of high school to help with his stupid ass drug selling business." She snarled at me, I watched as light brown curls were pinned away from her face with a blue bandana.

Her baby blue eyes similar to mine now a dark dreamy blue as she stared down at me in anger. I bowed my head, I would never be good for my family-they were to perfect for me. My family was the biggest talk of all the towns, with my father owning the largest industries in the world and my mother being one of the best lawyers in the world, everyone expected the Miller family to be perfect but I wasn't.

I was just a fucked up kid who was lucky enough to be apart of this 'loving yet wealthy family', oh wasn't I just the luckiest kid ever! Note the sarcasm.

My mother sighed again before scanning over my room almost gagging in the process. I didn't see what the problem was besides the posters of my idols: Marilyn Monroe, Bob Marley, Kurt Cobain, and Miley Cyrus. "All bad influences," My mother shook her head disappointedly.

I shook my head, trying to not remember the pain and anger from what my mother had told me yesterday and pulled out my black duffle bag and stuffed all my clothes and important things in there. I pulled out my phone and texted the only person who could make me feel better and help me escape this hell hole of a life, Matty.

To Matty x -

You know how you said we should escape our shitty lives and never turn back, well I'm ready, lets go. I'll be over in ten. x - Bry

He responded immediately.

To Brysen x -

I'll get the car ready. x - Matty

I looked around my room one last time before opening up my window and climbing out of it. I made my way down the street and didn't turn back.

-

I smiled when I saw Matty standing by his car staring at me. He engulfed me into a hug, his warm embrace calming me as I inhaled his unique smell of mint and weed (a/n- i made that up so please don't comment on him not smelling like that.)

I know it sounds odd, but it smelled quite good. He pulled me away from his chest and kissed my forehead, whispering my chocolate. I giggled feeling loved, wanted and worthy, something I didn't feel very often.

I was Matty's and he was mine, It felt good being his. "Shall we?" Matty opened my door, took my bag from my hands, throwing it in the back, "We shall," I laughed as he closed my door and got in on his side.

He started the car and the engine roared to life, "Oh, my car smells like chocolate," he jokes. I laugh lacing our fingers together and getting ready for the ride of a lifetime.

~

"So what's the plan?" I asked. "Well I don't really have one...yet." He said. My eyes widened and he chuckled, scratching the back of his head.

"Let's go to Florida!" I suggest. "Why Florida?" He asks. "I don't know it seems cool. It's one of those places you can only dream about." I smiled. "Very true, I like how you think love."

I blushed at the compliment. We turned up the radio when The Weekend came on. Often blasting through the speakers on full blast.

I loved this song. We yelled the lyrics sounding way off tune. But honestly, this was the most fun I've ever had. No one treated me like Matty.

I felt special with him and I never wanted moments with him to end. Moments like these. Soon, we stopped for gas.

I hate making stops. I just wanna go, go, go. And never look back. Soon, I saw a girl stumbling out of her car. She didn't seem drunk.

Her blonde hair was ruffled and looked very messy, but it seemed to suit her. She went to the little shop at the gasoline and disappeared from sight.

Matty was taking forever because the same girl from before came out sooner than him. She was on her phone and in her free hand, she held a can of coke she had probably just bought.

She looked up from the screen and made eye contact with me. She had blue eyes like mine, hers were just a tad lighter. Like the sky.

I was shocked when she made her way toward me. "Why are you staring at me so much? I know I'm hot but damn. Where's the chill?" I noticed she had a British accent.

"I'm an observer. And my chill has vanished a long time ago. I'm Brysen by the way." I smiled. "I'm Ryan." She said. I liked her, she seemed different.

"Where are you from?" I asked. I was generally curious. "Bradford." She mumbled. "Woah, you're far from home. It's Chicago, Jesus Christ."

"I left home a long time ago, now I just travel alone. Exploring the world and all that sappy shit. No regrets." She laughed.

I smiled. "I left home too, my life wasn't that great. Hey, do you wanna join me and my boyfriend on an adventure?" I asked. "I don't want to be a cockblock."

"You won't be, seriously if we wanna have sex we'll do it in front of you." I laughed. "Alright I'm down for some free porn." She said. "Yay!" I clapped.

She hopped into the backseat of the car. "What about your car." I asked. "Oh that's not my car, the dude was just giving me a ride. I left my car in a parking lot and I lost it. I was to lazy to look for it." She shrugged.

I couldn't help but laugh. "You're my spirit animal, I swear." Soon Matty got in the car and hadn't noticed Ryan yet. "I got us some chips and shit." Matty said.

He gave me a chaste kiss and started the car. "I want some chips, fool." Ryan said from the backseat. "Holy fucking shit!" Matty yelled. He placed a hand over his heart as he looked at the backseat.

"Your baby girl said it'd be alright if I'd come along." She smirked. Matty looked at me with widened eyes. 'Really?' He mouthed. I mouthed a 'sorry' to him.

"Your girl said I won't be a cockblock and I promise I won't be." She smiled. Matty sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"Well now you're apart of the messed up kids club, there's no going back now." He chuckled. "Please, I've been messed up since day one." She said. "Now let's go!" I yelled. We all cheered and Matty began driving to the place of dreams.
