Saturday -

I woke up in the living room, the sun blinding my eyes. "Mom?... Dad?" No answer. I start to get up slowly. I slept on my hand and now it was aching badly. I start to walk to my parents room when I notice they aren't there.

"Mom? Dad?!" This is very unusual... They should be home by now.... Since yesterday. I can feel butterflies in my stomach, I've never ever been this worried in my life.

Okay that's it I'm calling my parents again... No answer. I start to cry, what happened to them? What happened to me? Why is my life changing? Just because I crossed a stupid little path, is that why everything has changed?

I used to hang out with my friends at Starbucks, and now what? After some alone time, I decide to call the police. "Hello?" My voice was still shaky "hello, are you all right?" Said a voice... I couldn't tell if it was automatic or a real person, but I still talked. "Umm... Not really...." I burst out crying again.

"I don't know where my parents are- but they haven't came home since yesterday... And it's not like them." "Okay ma'am, calm down it's okay. Is there anyone with you at this moment?" The police seemed strange... I don't know why though. "No!" I answered practically yelling at the police.

"Alright, we are going to investigate this; but from now on I need you to stay calm. They could be out or still working."

"NO! There not working my mom and dad finished work a long time ago!" I was so angry, my mind kept telling me they are never going to come back.

"Okay ma'am. We need your name, age, and where you live." The police said.
"My name is Leslie, I live on 2335 Anderson Drive, and I am sixteen years old..."

"Well, your old enough to be home by yourself. Maybe they are out" The police said.
"My parents are way to overprotective. It's surprising how they would let me walk around a park." I said, voice shaky and dry from crying so much.

"We will look on this ma'am. But from now on stay calm, and if we don't call back after 2 days, go to a close friend or relatives house."

"But-"
"Good-bye"
