It had been a hard Saturday one Wendy had dreaded for awhile her father had taken her to the Brochete family, one of the wealthiest in the neighborhood to see if they were interested in promising there son who was two years younger than Wendy to an engagement that would be set up for the end of fall. Father was struggling Wendy knew this she wanted to help for the sake of her brothers but she couldn't help but daydream about running away, flying away, back to him a dream she always had she had decided she would leave her life behind for this dream if he would just come back, when was he going to come back?
" WENDY! Are you daydreaming again! On a day as important as today!" Her Father yelled in a whisper as Tom Brochete left the room to find the papers to sign for the engagement.
" Sorry Father no I'm just not feeling well." She said quietly.
" Well you better pull it together you've caused enough trouble for this family all your disappearing and blatant disrespect the least you could do is be on your best behavior for this! If his son doesn't like you I don't know what I'll have to do with you!" He threatened, her father always threatened to get his way. As the words left her fathers mouth out came the most hideous and small frail boy she had ever seen his face was sunken deep and he looked like he had been crying before he walked down the stairs, he didn't want this either.
" I'm sorry could I use your bathroom" She said.
" Of course it's right down that hallway." Said the boys father and with that she ran down the hall passing the bathroom and straight through the front door she couldn't do it she was his she was still his. She started to cry as she ran down the streets of London it became dark as she reached the steps to her house her father wasn't home yet.
" Wendy what's the matter?" Her mother asked as she ran past her but she stayed silent and slammed her bedroom door behind her running to the seat below her window. He had promised he would come back he broke his promise, she stared up at the star the second star to the right the one she always stared at hoping she would see his shadow once more. Drained she hesitated to say the words she said every night but a glimpse of hope flickered through her body and she found herself saying the words.
" I believe in you Peter Pan." She put her head down on the windowsill " Please come back." She cried for what felt like hours until she was shot back by a gust of wind and the shadow flew in she jumped up and started to walk towards it until she heard him.
" Wendy?" A very familiar voice said behind her and she flung around to see Peter standing there his hair blowing in the wind and a smile on his face.
" Peter!" She yelled and ran to him wrapping her arms around his neck he pulled her in tighter his arms around her waist.
" I've missed you more than anything Wendy" he said and released the hug to put his hand on her cheek.
" Why'd you take so long it's been a whole year Peter I've been lost without you what took you so bloody long!" She said sounding kind of irritated she didn't wanna come off that way but she was irritated she had missed him so bad it hurt physically.
" I'm so sorry Wendy time is very different in Neverland I told you" he said and kissed her forehead pulling her closer again by her waist looking into her eyes She stared into his beautiful green eyes and all was forgiven.
" Peter I've made my decision now." She said referring to a question he had asked her before he left last year.
" Have you?" He said tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.
" mhm, I wanna go back with you I wanna give up my life here and I just wanna be with you." She said knowing it wasn't a hard decision she would miss her family but knew she could always fly to them and watch them whenever she pleased and giving up Peter wasn't something she wanted to do again.
" Darling, please you don't have to make such a big decision like that yet I'm sorry I asked last time I don't want you to feel like I'm rushing you to leave your family" he said and released his grip on her sitting on the windowsill she squatted below him and put both of her hands around his face.
" Peter it may seem fast to you but I've had months and months to think about this and the answer is always the same." She said and lightly kissed him " I love you and I can't be without you anymore I just can't." His eyes looked deeply into hers and he pulled her into him kissing her deep wrapping both his arms around her and pulling her into his lap. He looked her in the eyes and she could see they were watering.
" I love you too Wendy" he said rubbing his forehead against hers not loosing eye contact.
" Let's go home?" She asked him standing up holding out her hand.
" Let's go home." He repeated and they flew off into the second star to the right.
