The Barista and The Supreme Leader (SaiOuma fic)

Chapter 1

Shuichi sighed quietly as he opened up the cafe for the day, as he was currently the only employee there since he always got to work earlier than he needed to, which was why he always opened up the cafe each morning before the manager gets there so he didn't have to wait to get everything set up. He was a very diligent worker, always doing what he was told to and even things that were not expected of him. It was no wonder he was constantly being called a reliable worker by his coworkers.

At first, there wasn't much business going on and it was pretty ordinary for Shuichi, then he saw someone walk in he could definitely describe as odd; he was wearing a white suit with straps on it and had a checkered scarf, but the one thing he noticed the most was his purple hair that contrasted with all the white he was wearing. "Hello, how may I help you today?"

"I would like a mocha, please." the boy said, which wasn't as out of the ordinary as he thought the request was going to be. 'Don't judge him by appearance, Shuichi!' he scolded himself internally as he smiled at the boy

"And will that be all for today? If so what name should I put for your order?" Shuichi said as he stared at the boy.

"Yeah that will be all for me, and Kokichi Ouma. What's your name?" Kokichi said as he looked at Shuichi, a curious smile on the smaller boys face as he paid for his drink.

"Shuichi saihara" Shuichi said with a calm smile before saying, "you don't seem like you're from around the area"

"Heh, that makes sense considering I'm not. I'm going to hopes peak this year and was on my way there to get settled into the dorms" Kokichi said with a soft laugh.

"Really? I'm going to hopes peak too! So what talent did you get scouted for?" Shuichi asked curiously as he looked at his possible classmate.

"Ultimate supreme leader, my organization has over 10,000 members!" Kokichi bragged, and Shuichi couldn't tell if he was kidding or not.

"Ah, well if it wasn't already obvious I got scouted as the ultimate barista" Shuichi said as he finished making the mocha and handed it to Kokichi.

"Thanks, I'll see you at hopes peak then?" Kokichi said with a smile on his face as he stared at Shuichi

"Yup, I'll see you there" Shuichi said as he watched Kokichi leave. It was about 5 minutes later when he heard a commotion outside and Kokichi saying, "leave me alone!" So he quickly rushed outside and, upon seeing Kokichi getting mugged by an older guy, quickly shoved the guy down before calling the police to report what happened.

"T-thanks Shuichi, I don't know what I would have done if you weren't here to help me" Kokichi said and hugged his new friend.

"It's not a big deal, I just did what any sane person should do in a situation like that and helped" Shuichi chuckled. When the police arrived they asked Kokichi some questions before taking the guy away

"Hey, Shuichi? If you don't mind me asking, can we exchange phone numbers? Just in case something happens and I need to contact someone" Kokichi asked as he looked up at him.

This made Shuichi smiled a bit before saying, "sure" he then pulled out his small notebook before writing his phone number down and ripping the paper out, handing it to Kokichi once he was done then handed the notebook to Kokichi so he could write his number down.

"Here you go" Kokichi said with a smile as he handed the notebook back before saying, "I'd better be on my way, it was nice meeting you Shuichi"

"Same to you, be careful out there" Shuichi said as he watched Kokichi walk away before heading back into the cafe"

'Why do I feel this way? Don't tell me I feel for him already, there's no way...' Kokichi thought to himself as he quickly rushed to hopes peak academy
