LISA'S POV
"Girl, take a deep breath... calm down."
A wrong move, as it only made the furious girl scream even louder, groaning. I've been dragging her out of the store for such a minute. It's also been a long time since she yelled at the top of her lungs inside the store, until now, outside. To be honest, I'm impressed by how steady and long it has been. It was almost as if I was watching a live version of the TV show Mean Girls. Yes, I'm referring to the scene in which Regina George screams her way back to her house after finding out that Cady had betrayed her. Isn't it iconic?
"Screaming isn't going to help Jennie. Chill! "
Finally, wiping my brows when I assumed I had successfully calmed her down, only for me to bulge my eyeballs all of a sudden when Jennie unthinkably approaches a nearby camphor tree to punch it, not once, not twice, but far too many times.
"Oh my fucking hell! Jennie! "
"FUCKITY. FUCK. FUCK! " She growled repeatedly every time her knuckles touched the trunk. I hurriedly sprinted beside her to keep her hands on her side. Watching her as she gritted her jaw even more, with a vexed outrage look painted across her face, she shut me up with a look, telling me it was best if I didn't get to talk right now, especially in this situation.
After removing my grip on hers, she puffed out in frustration, stomping her feet one last time. She crossed her arms before staring everywhere in despair.
"The only way is to prove yourself to me. Don't show me your attitude-" she mimicked and scoffed, while rolling her eyes. I shook my head.
"But don't you think she's partly correct? I mean, do you really expect her to accept you based on how you acted earlier? " sealing my lips when she sent me a glare.
"I'd appreciate it if you could keep your mouth shut for a moment if you don't have anything good to say." Jennie smiled at me, terrfyingly to the point where I quickly did what she said right away. I pulled my arms up in surrender with a tsk.
"I just can't understand her. This is such an easy option. What's so bad about me that she won't give me a chance? "
Clenching her fist, I snorted and stopped myself from telling her everything on the list one by one from the start.
"Maybe if you stopped being mean all the time, you should be standing at the counter right now, clothed in our shop apron."
"Oh, please stop talking. You don't need to repeat it. "
She huffed and spat bitterly before stilling for a second. It seemed as though something had grabbed her attention to my words. when she suddenly froze and looked at me intently before asking.
"Wait, our shop?"
"Well, thanks to Y/n's offer, I've been working in that shop for the past two years, and I'm glad I ended up taking it; this bakery means a lot to me now."
JENNIE'S POV
Following Lisa's gaze in front of the cafe, I could only form an o-shaped mouth. Her eyes tell the rest of the story, thus she must be telling the truth. Since her stare holds both admiration and happiness at the same time.
"Two years is a lot, so I'm betting you and Y/n are quite close now, don't you?"
No matter how much I tried to keep my emotions in check, it didn't help a bit when Lisa smugly responded with knowing doe eyes.
"Jealous much?"
"I am not!" I retorted defensively before turning away with a sneer.
"But trust me, we're just really great friends who have known each other for twelve years, so relax! It's definitely a no from me. Besides, don't worry, I'm not going to steal your Y/n. "
