Deafening. Like waves crashing against the putrid spines of sharp rocks, tearing screams from the air. Just as unpredictable, easily and fiercely swayed from momentum of unknown sources; the smooth whistle of the air, the pull of the salt from rocks, but maybe the most momentum came from the already overpouring passion and emotion of the dying waves from previous lives, reincarnated endlessly.
This was emotion.
Right now, it was seething, aiming to destroy anything it could pull into its embrace, pull it in and tear it apart at the seams. Behind the rough annihilation laid dormant currents of pain and hurt, trembling lightly. The viciousness wasn't born of nothing, however over time, as it grew more intense, it lost sight of why it mangled into the rocks in the first place. Violence is all it had known, and so it continued the safe embrace of the familiar pattern. A silent warning to repel others who might hurt it.
The tears of the sky fell into a warm embrace with the earth, metaphorically speaking. Because, obviously in this reality, it was rather cold and hard-hitting rain. With the low temperature of the winter, it might even threaten to hail. In the rather bleak shade of the so-called "day" fragile creatures continued on with their day. Some were less fragile. That is, until they would be inevitably shattered by something or other.
Gavin stared out of the precinct window, bitter and seething. The only thing that kept him in line at the moment was a rather warm cup of coffee in his hand. The building somewhat silent for once which he was thankful for. Everyone seemed somber at recent events along with the weather, not that he cared. Nothing particularly notable had happened, just some dead ends in their cases. His mood, however, was rather typical, and of course no one would ask about it. That's how he liked it, people at plenty arms distance away.
"Detective," a voice registered in his ears, snapping the temporary moment of peace.
Gavin snapped his eyes over to the source, a low growl instantly forming in the back of his throat.
" 'th hell do you want?!" Gavin snapped, starting to tap on the table furiously.
Before him stood his partner, the android known as RK900, rather used to this behavior by now. Icy gray eyes like the sky so close to them, skin pale and littered with freckles and moles. His hair swayed gently to one side, mostly tamed save for a few curls. His jaw was sharp, and his hair was much darker than the detective's coffee. To be fair, the detective added a serious amount of creamer and sugar. He had removed his long white coat in favor of his dry black collared button up, he was still a little wet, but the coat had managed to save him from the blunt of it.
Rk900's lips parted slightly, only for a moment before he spoke.
"Detective reed, you seem rather irritated today. I simply called for your attention because you seemed to have drifted off someplace else," he stated as his right eyebrow twitched, the right corner of his mouth turning up into a confused and strangled expression.
At Gavin's little outburst, a few of the before silent eyes of the office found their way to him, the murmuring whispers polluting the air.
He couldn't take this. Not today. He snarled at the android, and his stupid yellow led. Clutching his coat even tighter he stood, body language threatening and acidic to the eyes. It was something about the feral look in his eyes, or maybe his unkempt hair, swaying a bit to one side... his stubble, his thick scar on the bridge of his nose, lightly crossing over onto his left cheek... he all but shoved his hands into his pockets, the chair having repelled back a bit from him standing so abruptly.
