Mate? What's that sir?...

[Prologue]

I took my seat in the first class area of the plane and put my I-Pod on shuffle. This will be one long plane ride.

-Sorry, let me introduce myself. I am Alice Lions. I am seventeen years of age and I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri where I used to live with my mum. Actually, it's where I'm flying from at the moment. Mum died in a gun shooting incident about a month ago. I've been living in a hostel since, but the social services have said I have to go and live with my Dad, seen as I have no other relatives willing to take me on. What a great family ey? Anyway, I should be allowed to live on my own. I had a job in Tiffany's and I was on decent pay.

I look exactly like my mum. I have her long dark brown hair and her bright blue eyes. When we were together, people would say we looked liked sisters. Only difference between us, is that she had high cheek bones and bigger eyes. She looked exactly like a model. Why did she have to go?! Argh! Bad things always happen to good people. This is why I've decided to be cold and heartless now. Don't let anyone in, don't get hurt. I've lost mum, I don't want too loose anyone else. 

Anyway, I am on my way to my Dad's place in Hinsdale County, Colorado. Populating a small 843 people. I did some research on it before I came so I knew what sort of clothes to buy and what I was in for, but I haven't got a clue what sort of things I should be wearing! It's just a huge achre of land, surrounded by tree's and mountains. There are a couple of villages there and no malls there, so I made sure to bring all my clothes and other stuff to make sure I felt at home. Going to be hard, knowing mum won't be here, but I will be quite happy with Dad. I hope. I haven't seen him or heard from him in ten years. Maybe it's not just me who doesn't want too be here really... But I've got too keep a good head on. Who knows, I may like it here..      

"Ladies and Gentlemen we are about to go into landing. Please buckle your seatbelts and get ready. We will be landing shortly" The Captain politely said through the speakers.         

I gulped and buckled up, ready to meet my future. Well, at least if i don't like it here, I can always move back next year when I'm 18....
