A/N: Hey guys! I want as much feedback as I can get because this, and my other book 'Jungle Mind' were written at the same and these are my first books/novels ever. Don't be too harsh, but please be truthful. And don't write stupid comments or reference inappropriate stuff. Also, how do you feel about my chapter/page length? Anyways, if yall have any ideas, please write them down or dm me. Thanks! 💜
Tara's Perspective (Baby Sister, 12)
Shaking my long, straight golden locks off my shoulders, I tiredly pull myself off the bed, sleepily rubbing my bloodshot eyes. With a sigh, I turn slowly towards my ringing alarm clock, then suddenly leap up in fear once I realise the time. I'm already twenty minutes late! Even though I was being homeschooled, my brother's expected me to treat my education with the utmost importance. I'm only 12! What difference would it do to my future? Not that they care. As I sighed regretfully, I scrambled out of bed, pulling on some shorts and an oversized woollen jumper after brushing my teeth and inattentively splashing my fatigued face with water. Grabbing my school work and stationery, I hastily heaved my books into my bag, trying to leave the pages unwrinkled. Crossing my fingers, I hopefully prayed my brothers were in a good mood, 'cause otherwise, I was in for it.
Author's Perspective (Eldest Brother, 26)
I was frustrated, I couldn't deny that, but I also loved my sister with all my heart. Our parents had died recently, and sleep didn't surface naturally after the grief, so I made sure that I forgave her quickly. It's also a Friday. Shit, even I was lazy on Fridays. As I swapped between glaring aggressively at my watch, and wishfully peeping up the stairway, my anger bubbled inside my head like it was a magical cooking pot. She was only 12, so I didn't expect to have to deal with much impertinence, but she's reaching her teenage years anyways. Might as well grab that point sooner than later. As her eldest caregiver, I knew that we needed to have respect for each other before we respect the rules. Tapping my foot impatiently, I glanced at my two oldest younger brothers, both whom replied with a shrug. Finally, as I was about to storm up into her room, Tara scrambled down the stairs nervously, her bag strap scrunched into her palm. I let out a small sigh of relief before harshly turning my accusatory gaze upon her.
Carter's Perspective (Second-Eldest Brother, 24)
I couldn't help but smile at my elder brother's anxiousness. All of us treasured Tara immensely, although we rarely proclaimed it to her, she knew that too. But Author and Tara have a enormous bond, infinite love and an endless friendship for each other, so I knew my elder brother would be stressing about it accidentally breaking. I watched as Tara shrank under Author's piercing gaze, then sighed sadly to myself as he sombrely nodded at me. "Good morning Tara. I assume you didn't sleep well?"
"No. No sir." Tara winced at the sound of my voice, her gaze drifting nervously from each of us before lingering on Author for a few seconds longer. "I was twenty five minutes late to arrive at my lesson, because I stayed awake too long at night and ignored my alarm. I'm sorry, brothers."
Her apology came out as a choked whisper, and my heart nearly broke at the sound of it. "Your apology is accepted, but that's one strike out of three." Smirking playfully, I patted the chair next to me and turned back to the table, hearing a satisfied gruff from Author and Ethan. "Now, are you ready for school?"
"I don't think I'll ever be ready, brother." Tara replied to me jokingly, and I smiled properly, knowing she's safe.
