*Regan's POV*
I remember the day I met Duncan like it was yesterday. I'm so grateful to have him in my life. I just hope he feels the same way.
**Regan's dream**
I'm blind folded; someone is leading me but I never see who it is. I can smell roses, daisies, and freshly cut grass.
I can feel that I'm wearing a blue lace dress, tights, military boots and a denim jacket.
Then, I can hear the rushing of water that indicated that we were near a waterfall but I still had no idea who was leading me.
Suddenly I felt my feet leave the ground; I could feel someone carrying me over their shoulder. I start to giggle as they had started to tickle me as I'm on their shoulder. I'm carried on their shoulder for what feels like hours; finally they set me down.
"Regan, you're my best friend but we can't date." the voice tells me. I knew it was Duncan; he's the only guy best friend that I have. How does he know that I like him? I'm freaking out right now!!! Suddenly I feel him pushing me; I'm trying to catch my balance. I start to fall then...I wake up.
Every night I have the same dream, it scares me every time. I wake up sweating and gasping for breath like I screamed for hours. I stay up for hours because one I can't go back sleep and two my mind is racing in a hundred different directions to figure out if what Duncan said in the dream was true or not. I can't really call it a dream anymore, it's more a nightmare.
The reason that I'm having this dream is probably because Duncan has a girlfriend. Her name is Annalisa; she's the same age as me and Duncan. She's a model and she's drop dead gorgeous; she makes me look like a potato...literally.
You want to know who set them up? This idiot right here...yep I set them up and you're probably thinking "Are you crazy?! Are you idiot?!" Well I was thinking the same thing when I introduced them.
You see Annalisa is my cousin; yup! It's not awkward at all. I introduced Annalisa to Duncan when he came with me to a family picnic two summers ago; biggest mistake of my life.
*Flashback*
"Duncan, this is my cousin Annalisa" I tell him.
"Nice to meet you, Annalisa" He said flashing his pearly white smile that shows his dimples off.
I knew it was the dimples that got Annalisa falling for him; Duncan was falling for her and her model looks.
Soon enough, they were talking like they've known each other for all their lives. I was soon invisible to both of us; as they were talking away I got bored out of my mind, just sitting there like a potato.
3 months later, they had been texting back and forth since the picnic and talking for hours on end. You know how I know this because after they are done talking on the phone; Annalisa calls me and asks me for my opinion about what Duncan said that night. Soon after that, they were dating.
*End of flashback*
Annalisa and Duncan have been dating for two years now and it is their anniversary tomorrow. Of course, Annalisa calls me asking me what Duncan has planned for her like she did the first year of them dating because she knows that he had to tell me.
"Reg, what do you think Duncan has planned for me this year?" She asks using my nickname that Duncan uses. I don't like it when she uses it.
"Annalisa, I told last year and I'll tell you the same thing this year. I can't tell you what Duncan has planned because it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it?" I state.
"But you know I hate surprises!" She replies in a wincing voice.
"I'm sorry, Annalisa. I have to go, I have a class soon" I lie to her.
"Okay, whatever. I'm going to get my nails" She sighs then hung up.
Ugh she makes me so mad!!! Why did I have to introduce HER out of all people to Duncan?! My crush of 9 years!
I have to figure out how to get my mind off Duncan.
