It was just another day at work for Lauren. The only difference was there wasn't much to do today. It was a Friday and the mall was empty because it was a beautiful day in Miami, Florida and everyone was at the beach. She would usually schedule two sales associates for a Friday but being that it was 4pm and she had only sold two pairs of shoes she sent Cristian home early. The next person scheduled was Lisa at 6pm and then Lauren would finally get to go home.
Lauren started managing the sneaker store "Crossroads" about 4 months ago. It had taken a lot of work to get it to where it was now. The previous store manager was careless and had done nothing right. When Lauren took it over it was like opening a brand new store because everything had to be done from the bottom up. Lauren had made a lot of progress but there was still work to do.
As Lauren heard someone walk in, she looked up from her laptop that she was replying to emails from. "Hello welcome to Crossroads!" She greeted with as much enthusiasm as her tired body allowed.
"Hi." Was all the woman said as she made her way over to Lauren that was by the cash registers.
"How can I help you?" Lauren asked as she looked at the woman who was wearing a Nike cap with her hair down.
"I ordered a pair of sneakers to be shipped to my house but they were shipped here instead." She looked at Lauren with big brown eyes waiting for Lauren to find her shoes.
"Right well ma'am do you have your receipt?" Lauren gave her the same look the woman had given her.
"No, I travel a lot and I guess I lost it."
"Do you have an ID?"
The woman looked at Lauren and slightly tilted her head to the side. "Yes." The woman pulled her wallet out of her purse and handed her ID to Lauren. Cabello Camila, Lauren read in her head. Oh! She finally understood the woman’s behavior. Camila Cabello, the actress. Lauren couldn't believe she didn't recognize her. "I'll go check the back Ms. Cabello." Lauren said before she disappeared into the back stock room.
When she reappeared she came back with a package. "The low top white converse in a size 7?" Lauren asked.
"Yes." Camila nodded.
"Here you go," Lauren put the package in a bag and handed it to Camila. "Anything else I can help you with?"
"Yes actually I wanted to order these too," Camila pulled out a piece of paper with a picture of a pair of Nike running shoes and the WEB ID.
"Okay in a 7?" Lauren asked.
"Yes, can you ship that to the store. I'll come pick it up."
"Of course." As Lauren finalized the order she handed Camila her receipt. "It will be here on Tuesday. "
"Okay great, will you be here?" Camila asked.
