" Call me Michael " he speaks firmly.
" Oh alright..? "
" Good. "
Michael and I continued our conversation which was in fact quite tense. The tense feeling did not come from me though. It was all him.
The way he seemed to carry himself around me was much more intimidating and stuck up than he was around Jeff and Mutt. Yet there was no reason why. The man had known me for maybe an hour.
" God! Can you focus!? " He spoke, catching me off guard.
My cheeks flushed a pinkish tint.
" Yeah yeah, i'm focusing. "
Michael began a long a list describing everything about this mother-like satanist in his life.
" Miss Mead was my everything. She was always there for me. " He spoke with sadness drowning his every word.
" Wow Michael, I wish I had someone like that in my life. " I said looking down at my feet. I was expecting a careless response from him.
" You didn't have anyone to raise you? " He questioned in a concerned tone.
Sharp memories begin to flood my mind. Cutting through it like glass.
My screaming mother slamming doors, as my drunk father went out back to slam his empty beer bottles against the side of the house.
It was so vivid.
" Y/n? " Michael spoke softly.
I looked up from my feet.
" No Michael, I didn't have anyone to raise me properly. " I spoke.
His aqua eyes shined in the studio lighting of our lab.
" I pity you dear. " He spoke calmly giving me a sincere look.
I tried to hide my smile.
" Well, I think it's time I go. " He announced.
Jeff and Mutt came over to say goodbye.
" We'll begin our work now! " Jeff said
Michael nodded as his eyes stared right at me.
I looked up for a second but avoided his strong gaze.
He turned around and he was off.
