There stood a small french girl with hair so dark that when the sun shone on it, it almost looked blue, there stood a girl with the most alluring sapphire eyes. Standing in front of a young boy with the most perfect caramel skin, there stood a boy with the most gorgeous sage green eyes.
They stared at each other piercing through the other's soul. Tears welling in both their eyes threatening to fall. The small girl opened her mouth to say something but no sound came out, as she could't find the words. Until the boy suddenly wrapped his arms around her, trapping her in a hug. She paused for a second before grabbing handfuls of his shirt and sobbed into his chest. He could feel his shirt getting wet but he didn't care, he only cared about one thing and that was the girl in his arms. His best friend, his Omnia Mea, his everything. "I'll miss you tout mon coeur," She lifted her head to look up at him not speaking above a whisper. "I'll miss you too, omnia mea." He replied in the same tone as she did.
A year ago they gave each other nicknames in their own native language. She called him tout mon coeur which was french for my whole heart, and he called her Omnia mea which was latin for, for my everything.
He let her go, now once again they were staring at each other, until he turned away and walked away. But before he did he gave her a watery smile, tears slowly running down his perfect, porcelain skin.
----
That would be the last time they saw each other for another five years. They kept in touch and wrote letters to each other over the years, but as the years went on the letters kept slowing as they got older. First it was once a week then that turned into once every two weeks and that slowly turned to once a month. The letters never stopped but their lives got in the way.

Marinette read over her favourite letter Kaldur sent her, it said.

My Dearest Marinette,
My heart aches for the simpler times when we were young kids having the time of our lives. When we were twelve years old. We are now sixteen, it has been far too long since I have seen you nor held you in my arms.  I miss you with my whole heart and hope that one day I will be able to see you again. You are my  ray of sunshine, my best friend, Omnia Mea.
I await for this day to come.
Lots of love, Kaldur.

Marinette got that letter sent to her a year ago, she was seventeen now and still longed for the day to come. She read that letter when she missed him, or when things got tough and today was one of those days. Marinette had a stressful life, school was hard on Marinette's mental health as she got bullied constantly. Then she had work as well, which don't get her wrong she loved designing it was her passion but she was just so stressed to get everything completed for her next commision. As well as the occasional shift at her parents' bakery. Marinette loved her parents but she always had the underlying feeling they didn't completely love her. They gave her everything she needed but the only time she really saw them was when she was working at the bakery or meals. Her parents had become neglectful without even realising it.
In simpler words Marinettes life sucked.

----
Marinette had woken up earlier than usual so she took a shower. She liked the feeling of the scalding water on her skin; it gave her a sense of warmth. She wore a pair of black ripped jeans, a white long sleeved shirt and on top of that a simple grey tee. But it was her favourite shirt since it had Kaldur's favourite artist  on it, Bruno Mars. Which was an odd choice, you never would have thought Kaldur would like that type of music but he did.
She went for a simple makeup look with only a touch of blush and some light eye-shadow, keeping her hair down in slight waves. She made a cup of coffee since it was the only thing that kept her awake and sane. Coffee was her only friend in Paris.

She left, and headed for the hell whole they had the audacity to call a school. She walked inside the classroom and tried to head for the back, but not before Alya, a person she once considered her friend, stuck her foot out trying to trip her. It didn't work, but it still hurt to know that all these people in her class she had considered friends, not until Lila came into the picture. A narcissistic liar who only cared about herself and ruined Marinette's last year of high school by spreading horrible rumors about her. The saddest part about it was that it didn't affect her too much anymore. She had gotten so used to the name calling and deliberately trying to sabotage her, that it didn't have any effect on her.
