Hermione stood at the edge of the lake, watching her reflection shimmer amongst the stars. She kneeled down and gently poked the figure staring back at her.
At first, the reflection became merely disorientated for a moment, gathering itself in no time at all.
Suddenly, a clap of thunder shook the ground.
She screamed, the air absent in her lungs as if tightened by a boa constrictor. Her vision blurred as she watched her reflection disappear into a mass of thick, murky black water. The stars fell from the sky, and the water twirled around each drop.
Hermione was losing herself as the everything around her collapsed. She followed suit, her legs buckling and sending her amongst the waves.
She fought the current, but her remaining strength was barely enough.
