Newt entered the room with a racing heart, with his hands shaking and no nails left to bite. The truth was that he was worried as shit, and last night was a whirlwind of paranoid thoughts running through his head. Thomas had disappeared and no one found him until there was a call from the community about someone invading. Newt didn't know what to think at this point, because he was concerned about Thomas' safety but at the same time he got happy for a moment, since Tommy could escape even if it was for a little time.

"They found him"

Was the first thing Ava Paige said as he sat on the big round table, snapping his fingers nonstop.

"Is he okay?" He asked with a bit of hurry in his voice.

"Yes, he is. A little banged up but healthy" Ava smiled reassuringly. "He was seen in the community at 2:30am and they called security"

"And where's he now?"

"Back at his room, monitored just in case. Before they start again" Ava said, "They brought a little girl, they said she found him but her parents called. Apparently she was immune as well, and was immediately delivered to the medical wing for experimentation"

Newt looked down to his hands. What did she mean by that? He couldn't imagine how Thomas is right now, and he didn't want to think about it either. But it was inevitable. All the times he tried to forget it, his mind would go back to him. Because he was the most important thing right now.

"I'll see if I can take you to him tonight" Ava must have caught him lost in worried thoughts, because the next him he knew, he was raising his head and looking at her hopeful.

"Really?" Newt looked at her expectant.

"You know I can't promise anything" Newt exhaled with that, "After last night episode, they'll have him on full lockdown, which will be almost impossible to get in. But I'll do what I can"

"Please, I need to see if he's okay" He begged with his voice breaking involuntarily.

"I know, we have to wait. We are one step forward every day, you can be free, Newton"

Newt sighed and looked down, he didn't like the idea of being free if it wasn't with Thomas, because the brunet was here because of him in the first place. He got up from his chair and walked out of the room nodding at Paige, with his hands on his trousers pockets, he went to his room.

"Are you ready?"

Ava Paige asked next to his bed, waiting for Newt to zip up the WCKD's jacket he had just put on, along with the rest of the WCKD uniform. This was their only shot, just to try if he could reach Thomas and see him for at least five minutes. Doctor Paige had gotten a spare WCKD's clothes so he could fake being a guard, and enter to the lockdown zone in the building.

Thomas was put there after they found him, and they didn't seem to have the intention to let him out any sooner. They got a little too much scared when the brunet managed to violate their security.

What they didn't know, was that Ava and Newt were on their private meeting room the whole time, monitoring Thomas' movements the whole time until Randall found him. They had made sure that WCKD didn't get information about the tracker on his neck as they hacked the signal just for a few hours. They weren't cameras in those woods, so when they had sensed a distress on Thomas' levels through the chip, Newt did everything in his will not to drop everything and got for him.
